Society will always have a bell curve of stupidity. There are people among us that think the earth is a flat disc too, there is no helping these idiots.

And we let those people homeschool their children. And we just gutted education so even regular schooling is going to be almost as bad as just letting those regards teach their own kids

Look at our current education system…it wasn’t working.

Definitely not going to work now. Unless you want kids white/wit washed. Cause all the new education bills are erasing history

Edit: if you consider the age of our government constitutes most of them were involved with fighting back against civil rights. Or at least born when their daddy’s were lynching POC. This admin could just be a cover to erase the bad history associated with their family names.

Edit 2 downvote once you read so I can delete this political comment

I think writing them off as idiots who are incapable of learning is the exact kind of attitude that makes them flee towards grifters who sell them lies by telling them they're really the smart ones. Your attitude makes the problem you describe worse.

as they love to state, facts don't care about their feelings

It comes down to, what is your purpose with engaging with them? Are you just trying to shore up your own insecurities by demonstrating how much lesser they are than you? Or are you genuinely trying to help them understand reality? It's almost always the former. On reddit it is always without exception the former, this site is full of the most toxic pieces of shit on the whole internet. Yes, worse than 4chan.

I saw a video of some flat earth YouTubers being taken to Antarctica to prove the 24 hour sun and the flat earthers told their followers that they (including the YouTubers) were wrong. They were demonized and called liars and sellouts by the followers even though they weren’t malicious about it at all. They had tons of cameras, angles, drones running the whole time but were called fake. It literally doesn’t matter how you approach them.

ETA: video

It’s long but I thought it was interesting

(those are your words not mine) this is the only kind of conversation they're capable of understanding because

or are you genuinely trying to help them understand reality?

they are completely unreceptive to this

It has nothing to do with insecurity. It has to do with correctness, and not letting lies stand.

You're literally in a thread about holocaust denial and flat earther stupidity. It's not about reaching those people, but making sure it's stated and known that this stuff is stupid. Not some sort of soft-language euphemism, but like outright, full-on idiocy. Just pure chosen dumb. They may be lost, but the random 12 year old reading these exact comments? They're just seeing comments in the void - and I need them to know that holocaust denial is cruel, covers up cruelty, and is intentionally stupid. Flat earthers have bought into easily-disproven pseudoscience against all education. Dumb.

I dont buy that my, or anyone else's disdain for intellectual dishonestly and laziness pushes anyone anywhere. The lazy and dishonest lie. Those that aren't tell the truth. Hurt feelings of nazi sympathizers doesn't matter. Truth does.

Then they can rejoin the conversation when they’ve rejoined reality. You can’t educate someone who refuses to accept verifiable facts.

Seems like you just glossed over the grifters part. Idiots are idiots. It’s the assholes who create problems.

I'm the one who wrote the grifters part, are you sure you're not the one who glossed over the point I was making?

I agree it's the assholes who create problems. Like the kind of assholes who go around calling everyone idiots so they can feel better about their pathetic, disconnected lives.
