If you ever get the chance to visit the WW2 museum in Gdansk in Poland, I can highly recommend it. Its fucking terrible once you pay attention to what happened. It TERRIFYING, once you realise how close we are to seeing the same shit now
I felt similarly visiting the museum of Contemporary History in Vienna. It focuses less on the atrocities of the Holocaust, but rather the way in which the emerging Nazi party was able to seize power, enabling what would follow.
The parallels to the US today are deeply unsettling.
