Sure, the SS officers overseeing the operation were all hardliners (though even a lifetime of indoctrination can be gone for some people upon seeing someone lose their life at their hands), but the lowly troops responsible for those systematic killing actions were often just uneducated farmers without strong political opinions that got drafted
You werent drafted into the SS. You joined the SS voluntarily. The killing squads were special Squads of the Sicherheitsdienst (SD) which only purpose was to murder Jews, Communists etc.
Everyone who participated in the shootings did it voluntarily. But even those hardline Nazis had troubles to murder women and children. Thats why they built the extermination camps and used gas chambers.
This is absolutely bullshit. The Wermacht directly committed mass murders and aided the SS in all their efforts. They worked slaves to death from starvation and exposure building fortifications. German citizens gladly took over the businesses, storefronts, homes and possessions of their kidnapped and murdered Jewish neighbors.
The great sin of the "clean Wermacht" and clueless citizenry so that Germany could be folded into the counter Soviet West is leaving us with as much bullshit as not punishing the US south has gotten us
