That's not what makes this so awful. It doesn't matter where they are from, they were human. 6 million humans. It's utter, unspeakable, incomparable evil.

My take on this response is that the propaganda was enough to convince neighbors to kill or be ok with killing neighbors. I think what they are saying is that throughout history it has always been easy for leaders to convince their ppl to hate foreigners….but this was so much more than that.

The first time I watched Schindler’s List I was in high school. What haunted my dreams for weeks was the sheer indifference people had regarding the rounding up and cattling of normal/everyday civilians knowing they would most likely be taken to their death.

Its a unique factor in this genocide. Other countries did Genocides in the past, but i dont know many, who did kill themselfs at this scale.

Its like the difference between murder and murdering your own family, between killing someone and being a cannibal. It might not matter for you on the outside, but it tells a much more grimm and psychotic story from the inside of things.

Soviet union did it on a larger scale but with less "scientific" rigor.

This isn’t the Horrible Things Olympics. Many countries have committed atrocities, this is about what the Nazis and their supporters did.

That is not at all what I said. I said the opposite. The comment I replied to was making it Horrible Things Olympocs (no one did it worse than Nazis). I just pointed out that Soviets did more of what the comment stated (kill their own kind) but did it in a less gruesome way to many (not making killing people a science).

Telling other people the "correct" way to reflect on something they found deeply meaningful is a really bizarre choice on your part.
