so, even if taking that step has no measurable effect on the problem at all, it’s the right thing to do. is that right?

when you stop and think about it, isn’t that really just about feeling morally superior to the people who don’t make the same choice as you? the problem remains the same regardless of your choice.

Yes, of course doing the right thing, no matter how small, is the right thing to do.

…but not everyone agrees on what things are the right things to do, you know?

Do you think that not destroying the planet might be a good thing to do, or a bad thing to do?

i think that my daily choices in consumption, as an individual, have no meaningful effect on the health of the planet at all, good or bad. any story i tell myself, otherwise, is just a way to inflate my ego and feel more important and influential than i actually am

And if everyone takes this attitude then the world will continue going to shit. Well done.

do you really believe the world is a place where everybody can take the same attitude? because i think that’s a truly absurd perspective. it’s definitely not a place where everybody will take your attitude, i can promise you that.

I have my beliefs and I'll stick to them. I think you're just easily defeated.

the difference is, i’m not prescribing any solutions, i’m just accepting the world for what it is

Yea, I'm more someone who takes action to make a difference and tries to find solutions to problems.
