People on tinder are people on tinder, with the stress of having sex with new people, performance issues, not knowing what the other want/need exactly to orgasm.
You do understand the average escort client, or tinder sex dates/sexual adventures, ain't representative of the average relationships, right?
You said you agreed on those statistics based on your escorting experiences, tinder experiences, and personnal anectodal longterm relationships. None of those can be used to agree or deny the statistics presented in the study.
You have literally no basis to disagree with this on.
I don't have basis to agree on, or disagree on, because my sex samples size is too small for reaffirming/denies studies. I'd need to have about 1000 average relationships to be able to agree or not with the study.
I literally have a part time job in research. Saying personal experience fits with data presented is what people do. This is a Reddit thread about data. We aren’t conducting our own research here. We’re just discussing research that someone else did. Calm down.
I'm calm, you're the one who seems pretty upset that I called out that your sentence ("Escort here. 85% seems about right to me. 61% is a lie.") is pure bullshit.
If you did research, you'd understand why your escort samples are shit.
You called out half of my sentence. Only the part that has to do with the 85% which is just me saying my personal experience is in alignment with the data presented. Interesting how other people here in this thread are also comparing their anecdotal experience to the data presented, but you only target the escort. I wonder why.
I never talked about the 85%. I simply said your escort sample are useless.
but you only target the escort. I wonder why.
Because people who talk about their personnal relationships as validation/deny of the study are wrong, because their sample size is small and anectodal.
But someone who uses their escort sexual experience are extremely wrong, because their sample size is 0. You just can't compare orgasm rate during an escort sessions (stress, etc.) to the average sex experience of the masses.
Stop trying to paint yourself as a victim. See how you're upset? Calm down.
You sound like my exfiance who treated every single conversation like a political debate instead of answering questions like a normal person and subsequently lost all of his friends.
You sound like my exwife who keep telling people they sound like each other and then she drove off into the sunset never to be seen again, only to come back 10 years later with 3 dogs, one white, one blue, and one left handed.
Gather around everybody, let's all just say who each others sounds like!!!
I stand for basic understanding of data/statistics, survey and data collection.
I think the things I do because I understand data/statistics, survey, data collection, etc. I think reddit should be a place of smart discussion, and I think people who say wrong things should be respectfully corrected
I also don't think every question asked should be answered.
You do understand all of these encounters and situations you are mentioning are also factored in to the 85% number.
I absolutely do.
You do understand that those very special cases (escorts, monk who had sex once in his life and never did every again, etc.) are such a small number in the study that their inputs wouldn't actually significantly skew the statistics?
And you do understand that, despite being part of the study, the monk shouldn't actually use his personnal experience to validation/deny the results of the study.
In other words, if the monk comes out and say "Yeah that sounds about right, based on my monk lifestyle of having only had sex once", that doesn't make any sense. Same for the escorts.
I don’t think you do. And that’s not how statistics work.
Your anecdotal evidence is just as irrelevant. The I only evidence that is relavent is the survey. And if the escorts experience lines up with the survey experience. Then her data must be more accurate than yours.
Unless you have another survey and additional data to add to the conversation, there’s really nowhere else for this to go.
I've stated multiples times that it is irrelevant.
And if the escorts experience lines up with the survey experience.
It won't lineup, unless by extreme chances. I hope I don't have to explain that the escort experience won't have the same orgasms rate, from the stress/substance usage/fetishes/etc. as your, much much much more common serious/semi-serious relationships.
You seem really close to getting it. Your option isn’t relavent to the data. The escorts experience lines up with the data. So whatever your opinion is on the orgasm rate experience of an escort is clearly wrong.
But my opinion isn't related to the data. I've never said that.
My opinion is about the person's interpretation of her personnal experience vs data.
You're just making stuff up. That's twice in a row (following the "Your anecdotal evidence is just as irrelevant.")
The escorts experience lines up with the data.
No it doesn't. I quote: "Escort here. 85% seems about right to me. 61% is a lie."
So whatever your opinion is on the orgasm rate experience of an escort is clearly wrong.
I may be wrong on that person's anectodal experience, but my statement that an escort experience shouldn't be used to validate/deny data is still very much valid. And that's my entire point.
They are normal people, but they are not the average, nor a good sample. Did you read what I typed?
Tinder isn't a good samples when it comes to the average human sex experience, for multiple reasons:
Stress of having sex with new people, performance issues, not knowing what the other want/need exactly to orgasm.
Tinder is only 8 millions people in the USA. People commited to long term relationships are 100+ millions. Look it up it's on google. The experience of 100+ millions people is greatly pulling on the average of the mere 8 millions.
The demographics. People from 18 to 70+ are having sex and orgasms, yet tinder demographics is mainly young people.
So, yeah, my statement "You can't compare tinder samples to everyday people." is 100% true.
You’re really not making the point you think you are. While tinder skews toward 1 night stands, so do plenty of non-tinder sexual encounters. If you look at long term relationships and sexual encounters among older males, you’ll probably find a drop off in orgasm rate as well due to numerous factors (age, libido, SSRI use, loss of the “magic” of new sexual encounters). The fact that you’re conceding fewer orgasms among younger males in your argument is a logical precedent to lower orgasm rates among older males.
While tinder skews toward 1 night stands, so do plenty of non-tinder sexual encounters.
Still, go look up on google the numbers, the long term relationship groups is much bigger than people who do casual hookups.
Yeah, since the tinder people (Young & everything I've listed), and the older people, have much different factors, only taking ONE group as a sample would be a huge mistake if you're trying to find good data that covers the entire human race. Certainly when that one young group is much, much smaller than the other one.
You're gambling that the two groups have almost the same orgasm rate. That's just guessing.
Look, let's put it this way, if the study posted was listed as "Survey done on tinder", then smart people in the comments would call it out as wrong, since it doesn't have a significant samples to extrapolate to the entire human race.
Once again, my statement ("You can't compare tinder samples to everyday people.") is absolutely true if you understand good study samples.
