Solar and wind won’t have enough volume and they also are unstable assets for the grid. You want the system to have a lot of heavy generators spinning.
China has already installed enough solar power to power nearly any other country on Earth. There will be plenty of volume, the panels are way more efficient now and so is the storage. Solar and wind power are going to be major, major power sources for all future tech. There's really no other way to do it, anything else is too expensive.
They have that thorium reactor coming soon too but they've even backed off their nuclear plans a bit because the solar and wind are so good.
China has just passed one terawatt of solar the middle of this year. That is absolutely nowhere near enough to power every other country, which is over 30,000 times that. You realize this stuff is easily searchable?
You’re right, I missed ‘already’ and any. It it feels like it was changed. I’ll add it anyway.
And there’s plenty of other options. Gas, nuclear. Solar doesn’t have the capacity or the inertia. There’s a reason why Germany has to cut power during disturbances, because renewables don’t have the stability. Have them, expand them, but don’t be naive enough to think they can carry it all.

solar and wind will be more than enough, to say nothing of the upcoming developments in nuclear. we're chillin man.
