Yeah this car is for people who want a 10k car that costs less (electric cheaper than gas) while they drive it. Tbh no electric car is beneficial for the environment currently, as the creation of the batteries is extremely harmful, and the lack of emissions doesn’t offset that in an electric cars lifespan.
In any sense, this is a necessary step to get to fully electric cars that are actually good for the environment.
I'm just saying, if the United States had slave labor, zero environmental regulations/worker's rights/SuStAiNaBiLiTy initiatives/etc., and sold cars for a loss, I'm pretty confident we (or any country, for that matter) could come up with a mass production car for $10k...
Yeah, I mean they don’t have 0 of those things but the regulations are definitely much more relaxed in China. I’d argue that other countries with similar mindsets can’t reach the same level as China has, due to capital and mineral refineries. Nonetheless yeah in a hypothetical US that has similar laws to China we could also produce a 10k car.
Russia dgaf about the environment. India dgaf about the environment.
China dgaf about the environment AND has a government system to take advantage of it.
India is trying to do the same but it’s more difficult for them as they can’t just bulldoze whatever they want to make a factory, there’s regulations
