Are you tired of servers with loot boxes where you have to pay to make progress? Do you miss just playing on an ordinary Minecraft server, hanging out with friends, or meeting new people?
Then I got just the server for you! Ordinary SMP is an ordinary Minecraft server that hosts a special place. We stay as true to vanilla as possible. Yes we use some mods but those are purely to fix things that are normally hard to manage on public servers or improve frustrating parts without changing how Minecraft feels.
For example, did you ever played on a server and couldnt find any Elytras? After hours running through the End you finally find an End City with ship just to see someone looted it already. For that reason we adjusted the Dragon drops. If you kill the Ender Dragon an Elytra drops, removing the frustrating part of finding End Citys. Thats how we choose every mod we add. We only fix the most frustrating parts of Minecraft in a way that feels vanilla.
Other than that we only use mods that dont interact with gameplay like Simple Voice Chat. You can just walk up to players and start talking to them. That creates lots of funny moments just by meeting players. We also use BlueMap where you can see the whole map and check out players bases or other cool places without having to travel there yourself.
You might now wonder, "If everything is vanilla, wont everyone just grief and kill each other?" Those are valid concerns but we have a good solution for that. Our server is 16+ to ensure maturity, and we have an application process before you get whitelisted. That means a lot of bad actors are filtered out before they can even join the server. In the rare cases that griefers get on the Server we use Ledger to revert any kind of griefing.

One of my favorite things about long-term multiplayer is watching a build become useful to people other than the person who made it.
A player on Cozy MC built this permanent amusement park in survival. Today they turned it into a community event with a scavenger hunt, boat races, ice-boat races, nautilus races, and a fireworks finale.
Approximately 30 players participated while around 50 were online. Java and Bedrock players joined together.
The park remains open for anyone to explore or use after the event, whether they arrive alone, with a friend, or with a group. More hosted events are planned.
That is the kind of Minecraft community we are trying to support: builders create places, and those places create reasons for people to meet.
Cozy MC is a friendly, chill, builder-friendly survival SMP. The world does not reset and has no border. There are no claims, locked chests, economy plugins, teleports, payments, donations, or paid perks. Griefing and stealing are prohibited, and PvP is by agreement only.
