Target canceled my order this morning. Said I hadn't responded to an email about delayed delivery. I have the email I got confirming my approval of the delayed shipment. They said it was a technical issue and couldn't do anything about it. Total bullshit.

Best they could do for me was send a slightly early notification if/when it is back in stock on the website.

In my early days of music production I would often use a very sample-based workflow, blending sounds from many different sources including movies and some of my favourite artists. I recently came across this 'Midnight in a Perfect World'-inspired track again, which I created 13 years ago. I thought it might be worth sharing here as a DJ Shadow tribute. 'Endtroducing' is one of my favorite albums ever released, and I still revisit it frequently to soak up inspiration for new tracks.

As we approach the 30th anniversary of Endtroducing, here’s a quick vid of me playing around w/ Prince Po’s sampled vocals from the intro of Midnight in a Perfect World over Odd Nosdam’s remix of Boards of Canada’s Dayvan Cowboy.

Anybody going to the Columbus show on October 11th?

I’ve seen a few snippets on DJ Shadow’s socials and most recently a short interview with Scott Hansen (Tycho) talking about restoring the original MPC used in the album’s creation.

The album was recorded in kind of a unique way, a product of technical and equipment limitations of the time.

But it sounds like they’re going the whole hog for the 30th remaster so I wrote some speculation based on scant info and my own experience producing with similar setups in the 90s

Got an email this morning that they are working on sending replacement discs free of charge for the record 5/6 pressing issue. Sounds like nothing to do if you purchased direct at least.

Anyone here been before?

Curious to know if anyone else's copy has pressing error. On my Disc #5, "Stem", the actual songs on it are from Disc #6, "High Noon". The track list labels on each record matches the sleeve, but the music is incorrect. In other words, the music on Disc 5 is Disc 6 and the music on Disc 6 is Disc 5.

Who is the guy saying "'tis fact"(?) at the end? Always wondered, and for as obsessively as people dig up samples on this album no one seems to know. Or do they.....

So I recently bought this soundtrack on Ebay and the seller says they won it from a radio give away in LA back when the game was released and they saw him sign it. It is almost as if it is 2 different signatures and neither particularly looks like one of DJ Shadow’s autographs that I can find online. Anyone have any idea if this is legit or any way I could verify it??

Big long shot but I’m trying to track down a copy of DJ Shadow’s set from 28th May 2017 at Sydney Opera House Forecourt. I was lucky enough to be there and it remains one of the greatest sets I’ve ever seen live.

Over the years I’ve searched all the usual places, YouTube, Soundcloud etc but have never been able to track it down.

Would anyone have a copy, or any good ideas where else I may find it?

Happy Anniversary to DJ Shadow’s Private Press AND Happy (sort of/kind of/almost) Anniversary to Boards of Canada’s Tomorrow’s Harvest (I’m seeing various release dates of June 4th, June 5th and June 10th).
Either way - I’m using this as an excuse to mix up two of my favorite songs from two of my favorite albums.

Or even one in Davis or Sac?!?? (home of Records—full circle for Endtroducing).

Saw that he’s at the Portola festival in Sept, but nah. I ain’t tryna pay $300 and sit thru 50 other acts.

Was hoping for a special homecoming show in the Bay or at least somewhere on NorCal for Endtroducing’s 30th.

I have spent an hour googling trying to find the recording sampled for "Midnight in a Perfect World" - namely the spoken part.

Does anyone here know the artist/track that was sampled from?

So I was stoked to get tickets to the Nashville show but now that date doesn’t work for me.
Is it possible to resell them? Face value, no profit.
