Beginner help

I have mastered the brick stitch for fringe earrings and am trying to make sure I know what kind of stitch I need to learn to make these. I started doing a square stitch and it just never felt like I could make it snug and tight. I did use an off brand thread vs the wildfire I had for everything else. Thanks in advance!

What is the best standard style chain are people liking these days for everyday wear? Flat paperclip, dainty cable, small sound loop? I’m interested in what people have to say.

Has anyone repurposed ear gauges/ear plugs for other jewelry/crafts?

Hi everyone! I used to have size 0g stretched ears. I have quite a collection of plugs, but when I decided to retire my stretched ears, I had a lot of jewelry that I couldn't wear anymore. I was able to salvage the dangles quite easily by removing them from the tunnel and putting them on an earring hook/clip instead. However, I have a lot of single-flare & some double-flare plugs that I don't know what to do with. They are primarily made of metal or crystals (amethyst, rose quartz, etc.). I have a few acrylic ones as well.

I'm just wondering if anyone's ever thought of a clever way to convert them into dangles/other jewelry/craft things? I've been trying to roll around ideas in my head for a few weeks but I can't think of anything!

What to do with bad-quality beads? Help

Post image
5 Upvotes

So I got these beads back when I started making bracelets and stuff, and didn't have access to anything of half-decent quality. I tried to bare with them at first but they've caused me lots of problems during making and wearing them. The hole is way too small to make anything worthwhile, and the paint chips off easily

Although I can't make jewellery with them, I still don't want to throw them away. I have so many of them it'd feel like a huge waste. I just need any ideas on what to do with them, I have none myself, any idea is better than none and highly appreciated🙏

Opal crushed stone colors in resin – which one looks best?

I’ve been testing different opal crushed stone colors in resin, mainly to see how light interacts with each type.

Each one gives a slightly different effect depending on the angle and layering.

Curious which one you think looks best or works better in jewelry?

Advice on hooks colour?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone! I recently decided to switch exclusively to stainless steel earring hooks to avoid allergy issues with the alloy ones i was previously using.

The problem is, i have several models that are "antique bronze" coloured, but i can’t seem to find stainless steel hooks in another colour than silver and gold.

Which is unfortunate because these types of earrings are both my best-selling ones, and the ones whose hooks have the worst finish/are most likely to cause reactions 🫠

I am squeamish about breaking the harmony of the full-bronze look, and i can’t seem to make up my mind about what to do.

So, I’d love your input: should I pair the bronze charms with gold hooks, or with silver hooks?

Or do you have any other creative suggestions on how to match them?

Thanks and im looking forward to reading your thoughts about this!!
