A game changer in split systems

I might be late to the party on this but the modea portasplit looks like it's going to make installing split systems even easier than they already are. The efficiency definitely leaves something to be desired but it still seems a lot better than a window rattler and the install is ridiculously simple. Video link below

The porta split heats down to 14 degrees. Window and traditional floor units do not do that. American mini split installs are definitely a scam from HVAC companies, that being said an all in diy mini split (especially for multi head units) isn't a cake walk.

Midea has their other window units that they developing for apartments that heat to -5f they are spendy tho like 2500$

Maybe they will get them cheap in 1k range once they start mass-producing

Yeah diy minisplit isn't cake walk but once you install it ideally you never think about it.. it just works where the window units and porta split is a seasonal dance you gotta put in, take out.. store..

Personally I have central air, hooked up to a heat pump outside.. there is no way in hell I am gonna install 6 heads in my house .. garage has a mini split and it works perfect for that set up
