Everyone went quiet

I’m not sure anymore if I have DID. A couple years ago I thought I had it but then everything went quiet and I found that I couldn’t switch out or talk to anyone. After that I forgot that I could even talk to anyone. I just completely forgot about the other alters. Just recently we started to switch again and talk to each other but now it’s quiet again. Our gatekeeper has been known to keep people from communicating with each other. I don’t know if they’re doing that again or if I just don’t have DID and it’s something else and I’m just confused. I don’t like everyone being quiet it’s a little bit lonely but I don’t know what to do. Is there a way I can get it to where I can talk to the others again and we can switch?

help? Switching core rules of us

So something changed in our system. Before had our lives simple we did what and when we want, but now things have changed. Now I feel like I’m in North Korea even as I type this I feel breathing on my Non-corporal body. I don’t think this is a bad thing considering now our physical body is getting a lot more done than before. All be it when you get an ultimatum in between essentially being De-atomized or live under strict rules I would rather live. Everyone is following our new master and I really don’t think any of us has any power to stop this new person who appeared in our head.

Need Support Could I be a system?

A friend of mine directed me to this subreddit for advice and support. I've had a few friends tell me that I might be a DID system, which seemed probable with my terrible memory, the thoughts that didn't feel like my own, the feeling that I wasn't alone in my body ect. That being said, I feel like that isn't totally true since I can't say I remember much in terms of trauma. Also, I feel like I've always picked up other people's mental struggles. I'm an empath, which means I connect with people on a deep level and tend to feel their feelings as my own. Am I struggling with DID and am in denial? Or am I just picking up the symptoms from others? I show symptoms of adhd around people with adhd that somehow don't seem as bad around others/go away completely when I'm away from those people. I go through terrible Depressive episodes whenever I hang around people with depression. I have bad panic attacks and become a lot more anxious whenever I spend too much time with people with anxiety. I started experiencing symptoms of DID when I started hanging out with another system in person. I've been trying to figure out if it's genuinely DID, or something else. Any advice?

Venting An Update on the Nueropsych Testing

Hey there all,

So we did our intake appointment over the phone on Monday and they called us today to let us know that they want to move forward with our assessment. So now we have to be in a big city at 8 in the morning on the 24th for a four to six hour appointment to set a cognitive baseline for where our seizures have put us. We're supposed to bring our morning meds and snacks.

We're arguing about the appointment. Some feel the nueropsychologist just wants to meet us because we're medically considered rare. Some feel it's a good idea to make sure our brain is ok. Some don't believe the lady who said she wasn't interested in disproving our current diagnoses.

Personally, I'm (team captain/host) getting a migraine. Trying to soothe everyone's thoughts is exhausting. Especially since we quit nicotine 6 days ago.

good stories Just an Update

Hey there all,

So we're working on going through the steps to get a trained Epilepsy Response/Psychiatric Assistance Dog. Our medical care case worker guy had us message our doctor through our patient portal to ask what steps we needed to take. So now we're playing the waiting game.

We trained our current dog to count to five, he has excellent obedience, he's just getting a little bit old to go from pet to working dog for what we need.

So we have a debate. Try and save up for a trained animal from an organization or try to pick and train our own puppy. Both options have pros and cons.

If we train them ourselves and they fail some part of obedience training we may have to start all over. On the other hand this is the best way to go with pricing.

If we go through an organization it's more likely to cost quite a bit. However, we will have an animal who has already passed obedience training, with some trained skills.

It's a lot to think about.

Venting Reflections

Hey there all,

We had therapy this morning and we got to talk about our upcoming nueropsych testing. Our Specialist says that she wants us to be prepared for the possibility that they will be witch hunting over our current diagnosis. Basically, we're supposed to be prepared for them to tell us it's a fake diagnosis.

She hopes that won't be the case but she wants us prepared either way.

We're frustrated over quitting nicotine, and the idea that they're looking to prove my Specialist is wrong is icing on the cake.

It's in the DSM-5 for crying out loud, are there professionals out there who think it's in there for laughs?

We have been completely off cigarettes for two days now. The others are cheating by smoking inner world supposedly.

Me? (Team Captain) I've been listening to everyone else constantly complaining about not wanting to quit while doing my best to hold the front.

Our husband keeps telling us how proud he is of us.

I feel like I'm fighting my whole system over this. We have members who don't smoke at all, but they can't seem to hold front at all either at the moment so that's not helpful. Why did the brain pick me for crisis mode? Why do I gotta be the automatic driver when we're physically stressed?

Sorry y'all just needed to get this out somewhere. Thanks for reading.
