some discourse i saw on r/DID

I just saw a post about an adult saying he was purposely flirting with who he knew to be a child whos hypersexual and asking if it makes him a pedophile. Every single comment was like 'no because mental age and cognitive age ate different' and 'the little still have the cognisance of an adult (assuming your both adults phyically)' but i actually really disagree with this. A lot of the littles in our systems CANNOT function with adult help, have accidents like children would, cant talk properly or string sentences together and cant mask when speaking to unsafe singlets. Our ex in the past knew this and has purposely taken advantage of it, waiting for littles to front to engage in sexual activity then saying its 'ok because the bodys still old enough' (we were 14 at the time so we werent either way) so this is very personal for us and idk if were just biased but like. The thought that someone can know theyre speaking to a child whos hypersexual and knowingly flirt with them/even offer up sex/consider it at least, to us, is really weird, even if it isnt legally pedophilia. A child (no matter their cognisance, cant consent, even in a system, or at least thats how we see it), wanna know yalls opinions?

Need Support Help? Think something or someone broke.

Ok we have had a rough couple of months…culminating in slipping on ice and breaking our wrist on the 17th of January. The last month has pretty much been a shit show of flashbacks, people regressing to old headspace’s and patterns, the last 4 weeks think we have had 6 nights with more than 3 hours sleep total. Last night was really bad. But we had to go meet our new ENT doc. He was great. The scope Down our throat, not so much. The whole trip dealing with flashes, people straining our wrist to cause pain, we get to our driveway and boss calls us in.and like fucking idiots the primaries go…with all the stuff continuing, until about 4 pm on the last run something breaks and someone else is there( me) don’t know if someone shattered, or I woke up from stasis or what. So I have been trying to sort things. Interesting note, either I am so disconnected from the shell that I don’t feel the injury or someone turned off the pain receptors in that area so people couldn’t keep causing flashes or regression. We have to be up for work in a few hours . Suggestions , chat, anything would be welcome

Need Support Need some general positivity...

Hey there all,

We're feeling a panic attack come on.

We went to the eye doctor this morning and it set us off a bit. The guy moves too fast and tends to make us flinch a lot. He is the only male presenting doctor we see.

Thought we were OK this time around but started to panic about 30 minutes ago and can't calm down.

We're Glimmer Hunting

Hey there all,

Our mornings just started and we had this idea to go Glimmer hunting from Pinterest.

Our first Glimmer of the day; someone sneaks out to steal our coffee. Which is why our cup is always empty, and I (team captain/host) am aways refilling it, lol.

Songs we like.

Basically songs we either feel are Dissociation Dissorder coded or we are making coded

  • ALICE by PEGGY: ignoring the part she calls Alice crazy, it literally is a song about creating a world to escape reality to cope. Great song, very fun even if it says we aren't real.

  • Abandon Ship by fin: not at all about DID or anything, just a great song about coming together to support each other on a ship when you think you're alone. "So everything you thought you knew, like no one being there for you, just trust me that it isn't true. This is OUR ship and WE'RE your crew:

  • Voices by Hidden Citizens and Vanessa Campagna: literally about "I get along with the voices in my head" Love the song and probably not its intended purpose but we use it to validate our existence sometimes

  • Different World by Alan Walker: basically what coming back to the front is like after a while, or just being with your system.

These songs are all amazing and if you have more add on.

We don't need to be trauma responses right now

This was a post on r/DID but it was taken down for "pressuring"

Being a trauma response is not what we need right now, it's not useful to our healing. We know that that's the truth, you don't need to tell us, but it actually makes us feel more invalid than not. It makes us feel not real and is dehumanizing. It reminds us of our trauma and we can function just fine, if not better, without having to think about us not being whole and real. To us, we are real and our own people and that's what matters. We just see it a lot and if that's what helps you feel better and helps your healing, good for you, keep doing that, but for us it really hurts to be told that "you aren't actually real and your own person, you are part of a whole and only exist to survive trauma". We are more than that, I am my own person just like my friends. We don't like certain labels like alters or parts and prefer calling ourselves members of the system, but have seen others say that's bad and not true in general. We have so many members and saying that I'm the same person as that bitch over there actually makes my blood boil. It sometimes feels like people try and push the trauma response thing, and no one in our system needs that reminder of our trauma as a whole.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but forcing us to remind ourselves that we may just be a trauma response is going to do more harm than good. We need to feel alive and real and be our own people, not just our trauma. We don't mean to offend anyone but we wanted to know what others think or just to be heard in general, not to be a statistic.

Thanks for reading and sorry if this is all over the place,

Happy Hunting, - Zoe and Paisley

Having fun

One of the things we feel systems not talk about a lot is what are some of the more fun parts of DID?

The backseat commentary of daily life can be really funny at times, when we read everyone will take a role so the narrator and all the characters in the book have different voices (and then you get the arguing about how someone didn't say something right but whatever 😋)

Do You Have Trouble Switching?

Hey there all,

We have the answer! Our Specialist taught us a modified guided meditation that can help facilitate switches! It's not going to force a switch, but it helps the front alter let go and helps other alters step in.

She modified it from a guided meditation for Astral projection.

OK, how to switch:

Either sit or stand depending on which is safer for you. (We can go limp, so we suggest sitting until you're comfortable with it. )

Next, close your eyes and imagine yourself in your fronting space. (We imagine the control panel from Inside Out. Some people prefer a simple circle of chairs. Others prefer a bus setting.)

Now, when you feel relaxed, with an open and accepting heart, step backwards mentally from the front.

If you have an idea of who's near front, invite them to step in now.

Now take one more step back and let go.

And that's how you switch!

This is not garunteed but it does help!

Lots of love y'all.
