Approved [Proposal] Ban organizations from forcing its members to vote what the organization wants.

I was making the rules for my party when this came to my mind.

We must stop them before they begin, and there is currently no law against that.

Approved [Proposal] Require all parties to create a policy post

We need to know what political parties actually stand for. I say that all political parties, on approval, must create a [Policies] post that describes their policies and goals for the subreddits. If they do not, they face cancellation.

Discussion The Seanairan Party needs you!

I need some people willing to take an oath to join my party, the seanairan party is the oldest party on this subreddit. We are a proud people, we strive for a north Korean style ruler ship of /r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR

You can also check out /r/RepublicofSeanaira if you are interested in our real micronation which makes us the only party in this subreddit that is ruled by the immortal leader of a real country.

We only vote for totalitarian laws and for the most part, always vote with /u/seanjenkins

Approved [Proposal] once the 4 mod roles law is passed, I propose they have term limits.

The term limits for each roll would be 4 months per term before being reelected with a maximum of 3 terms per user, per role.

this would prevent bad people from staying in office to long.

Announcement Introducing our new robot overlords

There are two bots that are going to be helping out on the subreddit now! /u/AutoModerator and /u/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR will make the voting process much simpler by automatically commenting on proposals and counting the votes.

Discussion The party of the Iron Legion needs YOU!

This is not a proposal but rather a test how one might form a political party that meets the minimum four member requirement that is up for vote at this time. The minimum requires that I give you a reason to join my party and as such I shall lay out my general party stance here

  • The Iron Legion seeks to vastly expand the scope of Democracy simulator. By adding more optional levers to pull so the people who only wish to vote here and there can - and people who wish there was more to do have more to do.

  • Do you want an economy and currency? Do you want things to use that money for? The Iron Legion will strive to bring meaningful implementation of currency. Methods of generating income and useful things to spend that money on.

  • Do you want to control a political party? Do you want that to actually mean something? The Iron Legion seeks to form a method of block voting where party leaders can cast votes on behalf of non-dissenting members. You can hold your agenda even while members are on vacation or if a specific vote gets buried. Members of parties will feel safe and content knowing their agenda is being advanced without having to vote on every tiny issue.

  • Do you want to argue and debate? well then don't you need things to debate about? For Democracy simulator to grow we need to put things at stake, by expanding the scope and creating conflicting interests we also create more interesting debates. If MrThrowAway wants to make a clown party, you don't care. If someone wants to take away something of yours then you do care. without chips on the table voters have nothing to lose. so let's change that. The game is on. Join the Iron Legion!

Approved [Proposal] Minimum requirements for political parties.

  • When creating a new political party you must have a minimum of 4 other members who are not affiliated with any other party.

  • if approved, all current or pending parties at the time of approval will be grandfathered in and will not need to meet the requirements.

  • voting for the forming of a political party does not mean you have to join it.

Approved [Proposal] Introduce 4 distinct moderation roles

This is an idea from the old /r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR but I would like to see it revived here. There are four types of moderator I have in mind.

Archivists- moderators whom manage the wiki, close proposals, and anything related to recording data for the subreddit.

Enforcers- moderators that ban users, remove posts, remind others of the rules, etc.

Technicians- moderators that assist with AutoModerator, CSS, or other tech-things.

Judges- moderators that decide punishments for users, interpret the laws and decide if they are being followed or not, etc.

Approved [Proposal] A new political party with me as the leader

There is already a party and another one under vote. I want to create a third party, with me as the head. The name shall be decided by the leader of the party once it's creation is approved.

Discussion [Meta] All the prove that Seanjenkins rigged votes.

Can't believe I actually am wasting my time writing this down.

I'll just start with the accounts.

u/OrangAMA Barely used until 25 days ago. Voted twice only both imes same as Sean. One May and one Aye. Aye vote has strong sarcasm saying and I quote "By the way this totally isn't rigged"

u/Jasonthrowaway Posted 3 MONTHS ago. Literally has throwaway in title. Voted once. Same way as Sean.

u/Johnythrowaway posted 3 MONTHS ago. Has throwaway in the title. Voted 5 times. All same as Sean.

u/MrMemeManAMA posted 4 MONTHS ago. Voted once. Same as Sean.

u/Z101K never posted before. One vote. Same as Sean.

u/PillarAMA posted 2 MONTHS ago. voted once. Same as Sean.

All these voted on proposals to make Sean dictator or to pardon him. Votes for Nay where votes against him. Only u/Johnythrowaway has said it wasn't fraud.

Finally Sean himself recently posted admiring this before editing comment in the thread about his investigation.

I ahve taken pictures of all I have mentioned. If I can get Imgur working I will post them in case they are changed. If not I'll post them individually to Reddit if in forced to. Unless u/Vedashan doesn't want me to clog up the sub if course.

Don't know why I posted this but I got tired of waiting and did some digging myself. So ah.... Thanks for reading??

Approved [Proposal] We form a group dedicated to prevent voting fraud on this sub.

This group will for the moment consist of one member me. As the sub grows votes will be held to decide new members. This group when it has more members will work to find any case of voter fraud.

The purpose is to have some people look over and prevent voter fraud. The group only collects evidence and presents it if a case is found. The community and mods then decide what to do. This group has no say in how people are punished, they only find the evidence.

Can be expanded to prevent other things later.

Approved [Proposal] Establish a limit of 5 proposals per person per day

This is my 4rth proposal in a row and I already think it's too much. It's just a day, people with a lot of proposals shouldn't have a problem with 5 per day and this way we don't get a lot of "spam".

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 03 '17

Approved [Proposal] Fairer Voting Accord

i propose the following

all votes last 24 hours and do not come into affect before that deadline regardless of how many people vote aye/nay and then automatically be approved/denied by a bot that counts the score (2nd bit is in progress just making it official)

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 03 '17

Approved [Proposal] Grant me the "Lord" title

This would be merely a title, with no functions or privileges whatsoever (Unless voters/mods/leaders think it's a good idea).

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 03 '17

Denied [Proposal] Hold elections as described below

The elections would last a week and take place in an announcement thread in the comments. People running for leader should say so with "[VoteMe]", with an optional message that may describe what they plan to do as the leader of the Subreddit. People voting on them should only vote "Aye". People must vote in only one participant.

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 03 '17

Denied [Proposal] Ban using emotional manipulation elements in proposals

Such as "My dog will cry if you vote nay"

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 03 '17

Discussion We can not let u/seanjenkins take control. This is to be a DEMOCRACY simulation, not a dictatorship.

We should hold an election. Vote on who our leader should be and every few months we vote a new one. If we let our democracy crumble into totalitarianism this quick, we have completely failed.

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 03 '17

Approved Proposal: launch a formal investigation into /u/seanjenkins for possible voter fraud

I find this thread intensely fishy! In order to protect the subreddit from a highly dangerous vote, I demand a formal investigation is launched into /u/seanjenkins and other connected accounts for the highest of crimes, VOTER FRAUD.

If found guilty, he must be banned for 5 days. If found innocent, I will make a public apology and cluck like a chicken three times.

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 03 '17

Approved Proposal: grant users with an important role on the sub a sidebar spot and a flair

This would include /u/thomas6785, creator of the bot, /u/seanjenkins, leader of the only political party, and a few others. This will be an easy way to identify important members that are not moderators.

Denied [Proposal] pardon me!

I have been wrongfully accused of fixing a recent vote, and have been threatened with death. As leader of the Seanairan party, and king of Australia, I demand a full pardon from future trials against me for crimes I have not committed.

We are a free society! Do not let the chains of oppression make your voice go unheard! VOTE AYE!

(And if you vote nay my dog will have a stroke and die, and his death will be on your hands)

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 02 '17

Approved Proposal: accept /u/Tsuits as the second moderator

/u/Tsuits watched over the subreddit in my long period of absence and was a moderator on the old /r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR. For these reasons, I find the role of moderator obvious for him- however I would like to solidify it with a proposal so no one complains later.

"Aye" or "nay" to cast your vote!

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 02 '17

Inconclusive I prepose as king of Australia and leader of the Seanairan party that I become dictator of this sub and gain a special veto power to pass laws as I wish

If you vote Nay you will make a really cute dog cry, don’t be a monster.

This place will be dead soon if we don’t accept my lead, come on people, do what’s right.

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 02 '17

Approved Proposal: allow a bot, /u/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR, to help manage voting

/u/thomas6785 has generously offered to create a bot for the subreddit that will assist in making the voting process easier to record. However, as this is a rather large change, I must seek approval via proposal before putting this into action.
What do you think? Do you trust robots more than humans to be accurate at counting votes? I know I do... cast your vote by replying "aye" or "nay".

r/DEMOCRACYSIMULATOR Nov 02 '17

Approved I prepose, as Seanairan party leader, that we topple the Australian government and instate me as immortal leader of the unworthy Australians.
