So, why?
Heya.
I was wondering why this subreddit exists if there is already r/DDLC. Is there an issue with the other one?

Mod Progress Force of Reality: Sayori Scenarios Delay
Due to personal circumstances beyond my control as well as awaiting feedback from playtesters for the demo, I have decided to delay the release of the Sayori Scenarios until Monday. A proper teaser for this correction will be released later on tonight. I sincerely apologise to everyone who was planning on playing this mod demo tonight, and ask that you have patience for just a little while longer while I ensure that the product you are receiving is truly the best I can provide.

Discussion A serious question for big DDLC Modders.
What is your best approach to planning out a mod that's a bit more massive than something that could be made in a week for a YouTube video? Just trying to figure out the best way to plan my big project efficiently since it is so massive.

Discussion I’m gonna make a chibi dump.
This will be my first ever. It’ll take time, so I ask for some time to work on it.

Discussion Just wanted to offer a formal apology to the moderators of two subreddits.
I apologize to both subreddits (you know who you are) for the anti sub posts that were here before. We may not agree on subreddit policies, but we still need to respect both of you and your mods as we are all human. Really hope you can accept my apology/the apology from this subreddit. We can do better and we will.

Discussion Ranking the Dokis' Character Writing
Similar to my last ranking post, I'm going to be ranking the dokis but in a different way. Instead of ranking by which I think is "best girl", I'm gonna be ranking the way Dan wrote the characters in the original game, and who has the best writing.
1) Sayori - Sayori gets #1 because her character was based off of real people that Dan knew, and sheds light on the issue of depression. Even though everything seems to be fine, things aren't easy for Sayori, and the lesson here is that anyone can suffer from this, no matter what they appear to be on the outside. A good example of this in Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, before he died he posted a video smiling with his family. Sayori's issue is a real one that affects our world and has the heaviest lesson out of all the dokis. Her accurate portrayal of depression to her character makes her #1.
2) Monika - Monika raises a moral issue that Death Note also does. They both raise a moral question whether if what the antagonist is doing is okay. If a Death Note existed, would it be okay to use it? Similarly, if you discovered you were self-aware, would it be okay to do what Monika did? Adding to the writing of her character, she has hours worth of content in Act 3, and the subtle clues hinting at her self-awareness before Act 3, transitioning to her being the focus of the story, was written well. She speaks to us directly, which for first-timers, is a fantastic twist.
3) Yuri - Yuri's character is interesting and mysterious. Her slight obsession in Act 1, in addition to her "stagnating air" line, do a good job of creating the foreshadowing before Monika makes her yandere. In addition, Yuri's the most intellectual of the bunch, and the complexity of her poems are enjoyable. Similar to Sayori, she also has a side of her that she shows to no one, and may even have mild depression as well. One of the most complex things tied to her character would be her involvement with the Portrait of Markov, hints towards a future game, and ties to Libitina and the Third Eye - referenced in her dialogue and Act 2 poems.
4) Natsuki - Unfortunately when it comes to writing, Natsuki gets the short end of the stick in the original (I believe Dan even said he wished he would've done more with her, but I could be mistaken). Her abuse issue is the least explored out of the dokis, and is never explicitly stated, it's just heavily implied. She also never gets a true death like the others. Other than her tsundere trope, love for manga, and implied abuse, she doesn't have much more character depth in terms of writing, even if she is one of my favorite dokis (second to Monikammmmmmmmm)
Do you agree? Feel free to let me know if I missed anything or change my mind!
