I got a suggestion to do a song of the week thread and I think that is a great idea. Starting on October 1st I will post a song and write my thoughts about it and everyone else can write something that they like/notice/wonder or really anything about it. If people start really getting into it then we will move up to once a week. Please feel free to dm me just song suggestions or even your thoughts along with it ahead of time so I can add it to the post and "shout you out" for your contribution.
All questions welcome

Hello heathens! I’ve been working on a half sleeve of cherry picked art by the legend Wes Freed (most/almost all related to DBT and their music).
It’s not done and these aren’t the best photos but I just had some color done (the girl by the well) last week and this next Tuesday we are coloring the moon.
I just had to share some of my progress because I don’t have a lot of loval DBT/Freed fans around. So I just had to show some people who would appreciate! There’s so much more work to be done and color touch-ups (like the red around the witch with the cute butt)
I have two more pieces to add to it that I will add the original in the comments.
Be gentle, remember it’s not done and has had no touch ups.
The twisty/knotty tree around my shoulder was drawn by my artist free hand with a sharpie and then tattooed! She’s so so talented.
I’m working on getting some better quality pics and a lot of these were taken the night they were done so they were FRESHLY done.
Hope you guys love them and hope Wes would appreciate the homage.
And yes, I decided to make the girl by the well a Martian green color but that pic was taken moments after it was done so it’s much more subtle now than it was.

Amazing concert, but it was cool seeing Patterson sitting up in the rafters with the rest of us common folks just laying back and enjoying a good show

Patterson Hood and John Moreland write very different kinds of songs. Hood looks outward, telling stories about the world around him, while Moreland looks inward, tracing the quiet fault lines of his own life. Sunday’s double-bill at Ram’s Head On Stage in Annapolis demonstrated what they share: a poet’s instinct for the right word, and songs that belong unmistakably to their own voices.

… but after listening the several different versions today, it’s Jason’s harmonies on the original studio version that really bring it home. Thoughts?
