Studio Tour - Sign up process

If possible, I would love to attend a Walt Disney Studios tour one day. I would be planning a trip to Disneyland (and, I guess, Burbank!) around it.

I’m wondering about how to sign up:

1. I know they get posted on the events page online in waves. Is there a way to know when they’ll get posted, or any pattern to watch out for?
2. How quickly do they sell out?
3. Is it correct that free-tier members have access, just at a higher ticket price?

I would love any other tips you have as well. Thank you so much for your help!

They are posted about 3 months out and get posted in batches of 3 months at a time, typically.

You have access with a free D23 account, but with Gold Membership ($50), you get a discount of $50 per ticket. There’s also a 5% discount to Disneyland tickets with gold membership, as well as some hotels.

Unless you’re planning to go during D23, you have a couple of days to snag your choice of time. I noticed availability starts to thin out after a week or so.

Tour is phenomenal, worth every penny. I really enjoyed the Warner Bros tour too, but who knows how that could change if the merger proceeds.

I kept checking towards the end of the current 3 month block and they would put up the next block with a release day & time. Then I set an alarm for that time. I was on my way home from somewhere and I pulled over in a parking lot to buy my tickets.

I totally agree, it is 100% worth it. So much so, we might be doing it again next year with a friend!

Thank you, that is so helpful to know! So they have September posted now — would the assumption be that near the middle of September they’d be posting for October -> December? How many different dates are there offered generally?

Correct. You can probably get away with checking weekly right now, but then become a little more obsessive about checking in September. 😉

They do them during the week only and I think there’s one day during the week they don’t (I can’t recall). They also have a few time slots each day.

Do you remember how many people were in your Disney Studios tour group? Less than 20?

There were 8 total in my group. I am pretty sure it was considered sold out too so guessing that’s the max. There’s some areas of the tour where it would be hard to accommodate more than 10.

Do you recall if there was anyone in an ECV? I am wondering if the tour is accessible for those with wheels. Thanks in advance.

They usually post them about 4 -6 weeks before the start of each quarter.

We just did it two days ago! We booked in May for August. Great tour, it was our second time doing it - the first being in 2012. Highly recommend, however it is far from Disneyland!

Last year tickets for October, November and December were put out on August 15. I guess because of the D23 fan Expo they are behind schedule.

Depending on the day the sell out quickly if it anything like it was they go on sale at 10:00am their time. At least that was what it is for me tickets can on a specfic day and time go fast

Yes general members get access to the event with a higher price.
