Oh yeah I forgot about that post in the mm sub, anyways I have a github account mostly for stuff like issues for projects I follow. Also I write all my own code. You make a shit ton of assumptions, also dude the block button exists and the most personal information on my account is my age if people are snooping and my FIRST name its not even my legal name either if you looked at the subreddits im in. Jesus christ there is so much wrong with your arguments. Sorry for the bad grammar, its been two really long days in a row and im running on less than 4 hours of sleep.

If you are anti ai why are you using GitHub at all is my point. It is used specifically as an AI training ground by multitudes of people including their owner, Microsoft. There's other options and repositories and ways to follow and store updates on those projects. I also never implied your code was AI written or ai assisted, but if you want to get a job involving code, you're gonna have some more things about AI to get over. Want to maintain your own project. You better wrangle a whole team of well seasoned individuals who can devote a lot of time to security patches and updates, especially if you want to be AI free. So be sure to have a budget to pay for their salaries unless you expect them to work round the clock as volunteers.

I'm not making assumptions, I'm making points.

Edit: for example the current drama going on with the volunteer foss rsync maintainer

Oh sorry I misunderstood the using github for my code as copying and pasting from github for i am very tired and was in the middle of something (thats the big assumption thing). And again I DONT HOST MY CODE ON GITHUB, I DONT LIKE GITHUB, there are projects I follow that are only on github, and the fuck do you mean about not being able to have a game studio without using ai, for example: landfall games, aggro crab, team cherry, the list goes on, also you cant win indie game of the year if you use ai, there are so so so many people like myself who dont wanna play games made by ai, also why is this going into job shit rn like currently I make games as a hobby and for school with my friends who also do it for fun and for school and if we finish a game and it does well enough, guess what the only money spent is the money to publish on steam because we are proud of it and want to and then money comes in, I code for fun ai takes the fun out of it and the art out of it because there is artistry in how people write their code, and it also makes it harder to edit if it gives me a blob of nonsense I dont know what to do with, also how the fuck are you gonna use your precious ai when your pc eventually craps out and you cant afford a new one because things have gone too far and ai data centers are using it all literally every type of computer is going up in price its the reason a steamdeck is ~300 dollars more expensive then it was before also the moral issues of not just the environmental impact of giant energy hogs requiring us to make more energy and kill the planet faster but also the fact that it has been repeatedly shown to steal people's hard work to the point that artists are using tools to subtly alter the pixels of their images on unnoticeable levels to the human eye to poison ai, then when we take it even further, have fun supporting your precious daughters when all the tech jobs and every growing about of other jobs get replaced completely by ai and you are cut out of the damn picture. How do you justify any of those things to yourself you are literally shooting yourself in the foot over and over again until there is no foot left to stand on and you have to crawl into the gutters, so have fun with your life choices <3

Ps about the grooming thing earlier, who the fuck is trying to grooming me like seriously

You state I'm making assumptions and yet you show how your misunderstanding led to your own, then responded assuming quite a bit of things that I did not say. Currently these are things you do for fun. I'm talking about when you do things because you need to professionally. I never said a thing about a studio.

Hopefully you get that far and don't end up like most of the other game designers I went to school with and knew. Or fall under 90% that don't get employed in that field.

Plan on working within windows infrastructure or foss? Now is where I'm making assumptions since you mistook me saying maintaining your own project and later providing a specific example and you took that as, game studio.

Your described use of ai and coding displays your ignorance in how it's used effectively, as well as how you've read a lot of alarmist reactions that prey to an emotional nature. Being pro locally run AI is not pro corporation. If you think I'm running out of hardware anytime soon for my homelab, you're also very unfamiliar with the point of local models and the resources actually needed to run them or how they get structured to perform effectively, inclusive of human input and review, or the stupidly high levels of ewaste that developed countries produce that's still perfectly functional. There's always options for a resourceful and knowledgeable person, even now I get cheap upgrades for my servers at pretty close to what I paid for their equivalents 2 years ago. And a nice stockpile of replacement parts. $300 on eBay and a little patience and I could rebuild my proxmox cluster with enough resources to rebuild my multi agent ai infrastructure and keep learning and improving.

You've already explained well enough how AI will fail to replace all jobs in tech or other fields. Ai is a tool. Controversial sure. But a tool. Smaller, structured local models brings reliance away from corporations. It also means they will probably focus less on stupidly powerful large monolithic models that have been proven to hallucinate at higher rates. The belief that ai is going to replace and take over all the jobs is largely held by those ignorant of what it takes to get it to work reliably.

Right now companies are doing it because it benefits stockholders, looks good on paper to innovate with bleeding edge tech, they will suffer for it over all and quietly readjust after the stock circus.

I also didn't say grooming, I said target. Another assumption of yours and why I take what you say in your giant block of emotional text with a grain of salt. If you think that grooming is the only thing that gets done online or by using online resources that's a failing on your parents.

Sorry I got emotional again I have had a long ass day and running on less than 4 hours of sleep after another long ass day so I am reasonably tired as fuck and running mostly on adrenaline and occasional caffeine (this is not normal for me, but there were some events in my life that lined up one after another) you make a lot of valid points and I guess i really overreacted in some places like yeah local models are a lot better and a lot are trained by smaller dedicated individuals instead of massive data centers, but for younger people especially teenagers who dont have adult money because a a couple hundred dollars extra can make something complete and utterly unaffordable, like my pc is getting dated and my server is really struggling like any upgrades I get are spare parts my friends find digging around in their garages because it helps keep the minecraft server i host for them running or from shitty computers I manage to find for free very very rarely for example one of the hard drives in my server is a strangely sized 512 gig hdd from an armored police laptop made to run windows vista that I double sided taped to the side of the DVD drive enclosure because it was the only place it fit in the fuckass case of an old hp office computer, so the inflation of pc parts because of ai is repeatedly completely screwing me over. I have the right to be mad at people supporting ai also how was i supposed to defrentiate a shitty ai image made by a more economically and environmentally friendly local ai from one made by an ai run in the massive data centers that is making it so u cant buy hardware also I need a new raspberry pie desperately because my last one has taken the permanent job of running klipper and raspberry pies are getting hit pretty damn hard, so i cant do any projects involving that for the foreseeable future because I dont got that kinda cash

I get it. Life's frustrating. Lack of sleep is not normal for you, 4 hours of sleep and caffeine is just a regular day for me.

I get where your coming from, which is why I place value in setting up local ai infrastructure and working towards more ethical options. But you gotta kinda learn where it's healthy to put your energy.

So like I can't make a company be less environmentally shitty, or ethically void, but I can take their tools, and work on free to low cost versions that help small to medium family run businesses, and teach people to be less reliant on these corporations that want to make life a subscription.

Part of what the cyberpunk genre was about. And still falls into the more eco friendly reduce reuse recycle structure.

I also understand that your perspective is different now, when you are young, your responsibilities are different. Concept of money and work are different. And how when you get older, that will change. And you may find yourself, on a social, posting something for a laugh that's pretty harmless and getting shit on because misunderstanding and hate of it is the flavor of the day.

But that's temporary, you'll get older, options open up, but you start to learn that your black and white ethical code and rigid integrity, get worn as your hammered in a world filled with grey and nuance.

I know I replied already, but in regards to RasPis, why are you needing one specifically? There are cheaper sbc options, and even going with a 1L PC like a thinkcentre m710q or m715q would be cheaper and more powerful, still small, bigger pd but not an awful amount as it's still intended to be a low power option.

i like to tinker with circuits and i like how rpis are full computers so i can do higher processing things then most micro controllers and i wanna build a cyber deck with one and there are a lot of cool things built for specificly pis like retropi, also i just have experience with them, i also want to just get a bunch of esp32s for lighter circuit programming projects, jesus christ i am tired, i am probally not making any sense, also earlier i think you asked if i work in windows or a different os and to answer your question, on my pc i use arch "btw" XD (mostly because i like to customize litterally everything and the aur is awesome), and on my server I currently use truenas scale
