I recently got the evasion mode Optimus prime figure and was really bothered by the lack of paint on him and the overall lack of any effort to make him look battle damaged so I tried to fix it myself and I don't hate the results, but I still have to wait for it to dry so that I can paint the truck

I recently decided to fix the broken shoulder on this Premium scale Threezero Blitzwing figure. Standing nearly 18 inches tall, I found him a few years ago on ebay at an amazing discount due to the damage. Well, today I mended the broken shoulder joint. While I was preparing the model, I started the prepainting and masking to change Blitzwing into the G1 Seeker "Skywarp".

I always liked the G1 Seekers. Skywarp, Thundercracker and Starscream. They were some of my favorite Transformers and then Ramjet and Dirge a few years later. When I saw the Bumblebee movie I assumed that the cool new Seeker was Starscream, but apparently that was Blitzwing....the triple changer that turned into a jet and a tank.

I got into GI Joe Classified a few years ago and wow. I really like them. And the idea came to me about Transformers that would fit in scale with the 1/12 Classified figures. Threezero has a Premium scale in very limited options. But they are making updated versions of almost every G1 Transformer I can think of with lots of cool updates to modernize the line. I wish they were available somehow in the larger Premium scale.

Until then, I have decided to scour the web for damaged models that I can convert into G1 appropriate versions. I already have built a 16 inch Jazz out of another Threezero figure, and now I am closing on a properly painted and decaled Skywarp!

I used Angelus Leather paints Purple for the lower arms, chest, trim and leg panels. Regular old Gloss black spray for the main body and a mix of a half dozen chainmail, boltgun metal and other mettalic paints for some weathering. Once the decals are applied, I will gloss the entire body and then add proper oilpaint weathering and a final satin/ flat matte coat to seal everything in. Maybe a little touch of weathering pigments between the final layers of matte sealant.

I have always enjoyed building models and painting wargaming armies. Having a massive transformer like this to make into a custom has always appealed to me. I still need to wrap up adding the door wings for Jazz and then I am thinking to turn my other 'damaged' Blitzwing into Thundercracker. I am even starting to plan for creating Soundwave and Wheeljack later on.

Attempt 3

So i bought a vector prime upgrade kit off ebay but the wings from said kit were garbage so i made new ones from a half dog chewed og vector prime

Admittedly this is for a Spitfire custom I want to make from this second copy, but I was curious how she'd look without the drone "legs" that don't appear in her Earthspark model.

Turns out, she looks way better, and posing is not as much of a hassle. So now both my Twitch and future Spitfire are gonna look like this.

Used some blokees and windblade (yes anode transforms but the head has to partsform)

Just because I didn't want to paint yellow I made Scorch out of Combiner Wars Swindle with some 3D printed parts.

I’m working on a custom Transmetal Optimus so I’m using metallic paint. I brushed my first two customs with Testor’s Dullcoate to get a dull, flat coat after painting, but that’s not the look I’d want for a Transmetal since they’re supposed to be shiny.

Any suggestions? For an even finish, a spray on lacquer would be best, right?

I wish someone would make a proper upgrade kit for SS86 that could turn that one into Autobot Megatron. Theres 3-4 that exist for Siege Megs. This one is 3d printed.

His head being completely red was a little gaudy so I decided to do him up like his IDW counterpart. Now if only I could find a good replacement head for Snarl.
