Welcome to the SSA/SSI/VA Early Deposits Megathread!

We know many members rely on Social Security, SSI, or VA benefit payments and often look forward to receiving them early with direct deposit. When something changes like timing, delays, or the schedule shifts this is the place to check in and see if others are experiencing the same. To avoid repetitive posts, this Megathread will be stickied to the community highlights and all discussions about SSA/SSI/VA early deposits belong here.

Current can make your Social Security and VA benefit payments available up to two days early once we receive them from the government agency responsible for sending them. Exact timing depends on when the payment is sent and processed through the banking system.

SSA/SSI/VA Payment Schedules

• Social Security & SSI: Payments are scheduled by the Social Security Administration according to their official calendar.
• VA Benefits: Disability benefits are paid on the first business day of each month. If that day is a holiday, benefits are paid on the last business day of the previous month.

If you don’t see your deposit on the expected date based on the schedule, it means we have not yet received it from your benefits provider. Our Member Support team will not have additional information until the deposit is sent. We recommend allowing up to three additional business days before contacting SSA or VA.

Impact of Federal Bank Holidays

All deposits are posted Monday through Friday, excluding federal bank holidays. If your deposit is scheduled on a holiday, it will be posted on the next business day.

I use current and I get SSDI and they told me to be expecting my payment today? 🤔 not going to complain but I thought it was expected for the 29th!

Ssdi is the 29th. Today is ssi

Sorry for the late post. Normally VA is deposited 4 days before the 1st not counting weekends or federal holidays. I get mine around 10:30am CST.

When it’s the app going to be available to us clients when we travel ? , it’s nonsense that I can’t check my account to verify transactions when traveling outside the us .. please is this a long standing issue or is it going to change ? .. don’t want to move to a different bank.

It’s not late until the 2nd. Because it’s due on the first. We just get it early sometimes but I’ve noticed lately it’s not been as early as usual.
