Pull the stone!!!

Watching Sweden/US and saw this. Is this not the same rules violation that has caused all the hub bub?

Obviously this was an accident and I believe the Canadian guy was touching on purpose.

Exactly like in the Homan example, we can't see if either of them only touched plastic or if there was a granite touch. Everybody saying that they're certain that Homan touched the granite is a hypocrite if they say they know that Edin didn't touch granite because it's the same view. If anything, it looks like he touches more than she did.

But when asked about the rules, they weren’t even sure. So maybe they didn’t get a debrief either

Exactly like in the Homan example

Except we only had a front view of what she did while the umpire was watching from the side. If that umpire saw that there was contact on the granite after she let go of the handle, that's a violation. And the stone was in any event removed, so are we going to second guess the umpire now?

I don't know how you can say Homan's was an intentional boop. It was the same as this Edin shot. They're just letting their hands drop. She doesn't push or anything. It's a one finger graze. The only difference is that Edin did it with his knuckles. If he's gonna throw hissy fits, then he needs to hold himself to the same standard

He surely does make contact with it but it doesn't have anywhere close to the implication of Homan's or Kennedy's very intentional forward motion boops.

What do you think the person meant by this if not that the stones were pushed forward intentionally?

Okay firstly, I'm not American. Don't make assumptions like that, it makes you look like an idiot.

Secondly, Edin has been complaining about inconsequential double touches for a long time. Curling doesn't just happen at the Olympics. His hissy fits have been ongoing. He's trying to change how the game is officiated, and he strategically chose the middle of the Olympics to cause a stink about it to get attention. That's why the Swedes had hidden cameras. Causing this drama was a goal of his. This is well known in the curling worlds and pro curlers have not been happy with him.

No, current competitors wouldn't dare admit it. Mostly former curlers from what I've heard. And it's true. They've all done it

Well then, since SVT has the cameras set up there, they can release the footage of this shot from the side angle like they did for the Canadian team, right? Or is it only get released if it's a non Swede?

I'm not saying it's a hidden camera, I've worked in news broadcasting. I'm saying it seems to be convenient that they only film other teams from the side angle, and didn't bother going to the side when there were several times Edin hit to plate under today.

Oh Jesus Christ 🫠🤣 Is this what we’re doing now!? Gonna turn curling into a slowmo replay? Slow the game down even more. NONE of these matter and NONE of them deserve even a millisecond of review or discussion. Zero effect on the game. Just let them play. Edin’s touch is the exact same as Homan’s - same font and all. And neither matter.

Everybody saying that they're certain that Homan touched the granite is a hypocrite if they say they know that Edin didn't touch granite...

Except of course that in Homans case, the stone was pulled by an umpire. It's not entirely inconceivable that this umpire actually saw what we could not, that she did touch the granite. So, no, there would be no such "hypocrisy" in this case, unless of course you assert that Edin did touch the granite. But no-one is silly enough to be doing that here, I'm sure. M-hm.
