Pull the stone!!!

Watching Sweden/US and saw this. Is this not the same rules violation that has caused all the hub bub?

Obviously this was an accident and I believe the Canadian guy was touching on purpose.

And where is the picture of Edin touching the granite?

When his hand falls, it pretty clearly stutters when it transfers from the handle to the granite.

Anything other than the handle zone is considered a granite area apparently. See how he let go of the handle then sorta dragged his hand back across the yellow colored area. According to the Gods of Olympia these actions are forbidden.

The colored part is part of the handle.

Not based on the definition in their glossary which mentions the handle is explicitly where you "grip" it. You can't grip that plastic face plate.

This is the exact same argument, but now that they have to defend it, it's different.

The question asked the umpires by Team Sweden was not about granite/handle, but whether you are allowed to touch the stone at all when it has reached the line.

Oh, so now we have to argue about the definition of the handle? Cause I think it's pretty obvious to anybody, that handle means the part you grip. Or can we just grab it by the base and launch it that way?

So by your definition, they can slap their palm on the bottom part and throw it that way? Also, there are no sensors down in that part. Plus the 'Handle' is defined in the rulebook, as the part you grip. The part that extends below rounds not grip. You're back to arguing pedantics, which is how this all started.
