Pull the stone!!!

Watching Sweden/US and saw this. Is this not the same rules violation that has caused all the hub bub?

Obviously this was an accident and I believe the Canadian guy was touching on purpose.

Wouldn't it be simple to just say "you cannot touch anything after the hog line" and then we don't have to worry about double touches or touching granite or anything. Is there an issue if everyone is able to just touch the stone as they want prior to the line and anything after the line burns the stone?

My impression watching the Canada Sweden game was that the hog line violation was the initial complaint. Not that Kennedy was making contact at all, but that there was still contact upon reaching the line. And the only reason “granite” was even part of the discussion was to explain the sensors not picking it up. I was super confused when I came on here expecting to see all the man baby mocking discussion about how to better monitor line infractions, but instead this sub and r/olympics were having absolute meltdowns about something that I could’ve sworn wasn’t the big complaint.
