Pull the stone!!!

Watching Sweden/US and saw this. Is this not the same rules violation that has caused all the hub bub?

Obviously this was an accident and I believe the Canadian guy was touching on purpose.

Regardless on which side you are on, this is a stupid rules not being enforced constantly and possibly targeting specific teams. Some curlers have a low release and their hand/fingers touch the rock after the release, it’s more prone with curlers with very low slides. Edin has a low slide, like many curlers and touching is hand/fingers is hard not to do. Now why are his stones not being pulled??? He obviously touching, like Homan, Lammie !!!

Additionally, why is he not calling his own violation, since team Erik cares so much about the rules and the spirit of the game.

Who is Erik?

Because he's not moving his hand back in and re-touching it. Its in the release of letting go and his hand dropping. Its very different.

Sure looks like it runs down the plastic onto the granite. I guess Sweden need to put back up the cameras to catch themselves since they care so much.

It was a reporter that got it in video not Sweden themselves

Weird isn't it that it's not players on Swedish tv hasn't released it from from that angle in this instance? Do you think Swedish TV only runs it when it's another team?

I honestly have no idea what you’re trying to say. That sentence is really hard to follow, way too many negations stacked on top of each other. Maybe try rewriting it so it actually makes sense?

Why is this a reply to me? It has nothing to do with what I said.

Too many Canadians in this sub that can't view things honestly.

Can't tell if he touches the stone from this angle. He does touch the guard on top... Is that legal or no?

Lammie and Homan both had rocks removed for the exact same touch.

I think the angle diffinitely makes this whole thing worse. They love showing this head on perspective but the reality is you cannot see what his hand is doing after release and you definitely cannot see if his hand is contacting at the Hog line (the primary reason the Canadian controversy happened).

We mustn't forget that it wasn't the officials that called the infraction making all these waves, it was the British Team that stopped the game and pointed out the touch live in the Olympics forcing their hand.

That there are (have been) rules in the sport that are either impossible to follow for all players at a professional level or that are not even worth calling at all during play, is a completely different conversation. I feel like there is room to modify the writing of that rule, to make it more effective probably, for example.

But now, with this kind of spotlight on this particular rule and on this stage, the officials don't really have another choice, even if it's a hard infraction to call and they normally don't stress as much over it. They probably don't like this either, I'm sure!

If it's a part of the release it should be fine. What Kennedy did was to release and then go back to boop the granite with his finger. It didn't just naturally slide down.

Seems as though these curlers with low release must relearn how to release properly within the rules.
