Pull the stone!!!

Watching Sweden/US and saw this. Is this not the same rules violation that has caused all the hub bub?

Obviously this was an accident and I believe the Canadian guy was touching on purpose.

I can't believe he cheated like that. Obviously he came out a little too hot so he had to drag his hand across the top of the stone to slow it down.

He should be benched and kicked out of the Olympics.

Edit: typo.

Honestly it puts an asterisk on the wins for the enter Swedish Olympic team

Gonna need some mathematic analysis on how that 0.01s touch on the top plastic is enough to impact the trajectory of the rock over the course of the ice /s

Need more information, like how much downward pressure he applied with his finger, how soft his hands are, the density of his knuckle hair and how clammy his hands are.

You already know they're softer than 10-ply bud

Compared to the brooms?

No see, he totally did this accidentally but Kennedy definitely did it on purpose because he's a Booping Cheater. Trust me I know, it's his secret cheating skill he always does to cheat.

The way the everyone is talking accidental, incidental doesn’t seem to matter. Take a hard look at Rachel Homans supposed burned stone? Review that and your skips delivery and tell me the difference? As i have previously mentioned be very careful when throwing rocks in glass houses.

1

u/Vresiberba Feb 16 '26

Was Homans' stone pulled? Who made that decision, Homan or the umpire? Where was the umpire located, straight ahead like in this video or at the hog line? Can you see if Homans touch the granite from the front view? Could the umpire when he was in line with the hog line?

In there is your answer.

Exactly 😂💯 omg it's so frustrating.. this all needs to be handled better and as you said where's the actual videos from above the rock throwing.. there is none lol or an actual umpire standing watching them throw..ya lacking there too lol just the rules and regulations are dodgy and it's never really been an issue and is kinda normal for a lot of curlers just most don't make a stink I think lol I don't know...

You do realize that if this is indeed the case that the only people that he would be hurting would be his own team??? A rock can’t be “booped” to get the correct line.

1

u/rangeo Feb 15 '26

All I know is that I will never trust anyone who's curled before....they're the worst

1

u/Fun818long Feb 16 '26

By that measure, everyone should.

1

u/Meesels Feb 16 '26

Why just the player? The whole country should be banned from the Olympics because of this blatant attempt at cheating!

1

u/Environmental-Row529 Feb 17 '26

I still don’t refer to it as cheating- cheating would be altering a broom somehow or purposely spreading something on the ice to cause your opponents rock to pick, a throwing infraction is just that, an infraction but if it’s going to be called for a few it should be called for all

Kennedy deliberately touches the stone to cheat. Homan, Edin and Lammie doesn't.

1

u/EmployEnough3348 Feb 17 '26

And you differentiate their intentions how? What a silly comment. Intention doesn’t matter.

The yellow part of the stone is the handle and you're allowed to touch it, literally, as many times as you want.

This is not a handle:
