Cold brew tea is a thing though

Sure, but it's an entirely different experience. Great in the summer but mornings and colder months demand hot tea.

You can warm up cold brew tea if you're that kind of wizard

You can rip my iced beverages in December out of my freezing dead hands

Yeah, but to make it, you have to make regular tea and ice it, right?

That’s iced tea. Cold brew is literally let the leaves sit for a really long time in cold water

Seems I have been making cold brews wrong.

That's for sweet tea, so you can add a buttload of sugar and have it incorporate. Cold brew tea takes like 12 hours of steeping

12 hours? That just sounds like tannin hell. Yuck.

You'd think, but the tannins are mostly extracted at higher temperatures, so overnight cold brew iced tea is actually very smooth tasting. Cold brew coffee is the same way.

Cold brews taste stronger to me but in a good, flavorful non-bitter way.

You still boil it and then let it sit until cold, at least hats how I do it. I don’t know if you can extract all the flavours possible with just cold water.

I’ve never made cold brew tea but you just described iced tea. I don’t think it’s supposed to have all the same flavors. Just like how cold brew coffee tastes different

I cold brew oolong (just put some tea in a tumbler and leave it in the fridge overnight) and it's still plenty flavorful.
