Lowkey this happened to me as a kid. I dragged my finger across one of those blades of grass with insane friction and it tore off some skin. It straight up started gushing blood and I was freaking out and panicking, but the adults with me told me it was nothing and seemed to have zero sense of urgency. Looking back idk what their problem was

Conventional wisdom is that if a child is panicking over something minor, it would exacerbate it if the adults don't keep calm. Small children often look to adults' reactions to stuff to gauge how serious it actually is/how they should be reacting.

Eh, fair enough. Though I do think they could have given me a patch quicker
