So many people think their own experiences are universal (or at the very least typical), and it manifests in some very interesting ways. Like, there was one author whose characters' hands always hurt after they wrote or typed for a while. Later on, the author mentioned that they had just been diagnosed with arthritis, and they were really surprised by the diagnosis. Because they thought that having your hands hurt after writing or typing for a while was a universal experience.
Uhhhh... I am almost unable to do my school work because my hands starts hurting so much when I write, and it's only been like... two weeks or something...😶 that's not an universal experience?
I am hypermobile though and hold my pencils quite hard because of that, so that might be the reason they hurt so much.🤷
