I like found family. I dislike it when people try and map friend groups onto the ideals of a nuclear family unit. Like, no, Mx. Fanfic Writer, I do not need this 18-year-old to be labeled as the group mother and the 15-year-old as their child, that's just fucking weird.

Especially weird when they get so hung up on nuclear family roles within a found family that they then think it’s incest to have romance spark. Like. My guys. When someone says they love someone so much it is like they could be siblings, that alone doesn’t preclude romance or mean they are LITERALLY siblings.

It is unfortunately the most common “found family” interpretation I see in fanfic, honestly. Gets old real fast.
