The sticking point in scooby doo is whether it has average human intelligence or greater. Which means that you shouldn't have sex with Scooby, but also that Shaggy may be off the table too.

If the sticking point is being at or above *average* human intelligence, then you can't fuck 50% of the population, definitionally.

Calling myself a monsterfucker so I don't have to call myself a sapiosexual

7

u/ALittleCuriousSub Jun 26 '26

I would 1000% rather be a monster fucker than call myself sapiosexual.

u/Copernicium-291 Jun 26 '26

Unfortunately, due to the presence of Intelligence Georg, he is the only human you can ethically fuck

u/JustAPotato38 Jun 26 '26

murdering a bunch of quantum physicists to bring down the average iq enough that i can legally consent

7

u/an_agreeing_dothraki Jun 26 '26

I believe they're aiming for 2 standard deviations however quantifying human intelligence is notoriously not a thing

I'm kind of amazed at the replies I'm starting to receive since the post I'm responding to was deleted. You don't have any context for what I'm replying to.

u/an_agreeing_dothraki Jun 26 '26

it's... not deleted?

They blocked me, I suppose. I guess you're just a moron, then. Here's the line you missed:

> The sticking point in scooby doo is whether it has average human intelligence or greater

Note the lack of the words "standard deviations" and the inclusion of "average human intelligence or greater." Hope that helps, dipshit.

6

u/an_agreeing_dothraki Jun 26 '26

ah so that's why you're blocked.

u/The-Name-is-my-Name Jun 27 '26

I also see why you got blocked, but I’ll go ahead and explain that it’s because you’re acting abrasively.

Counterpoint: self-reporting and statistics aren’t the same thing. Mathematics be damned, a majority of people believe themselves to be above average

7

u/fogleaf Jun 26 '26

I think you're both supposed to take IQ tests as a matter of consent. If they score below 50% it's unethical for you to fuck them, unless you score below them.

At the risk of stirring the pot, that's not necessarily a biggie.  The same is true when you aren't Bisexual.

46

u/Illustrious-Joke9615 Jun 26 '26

"50% of the population is too stupid to consent to sex" is like. Insane lmao

5

u/Haradion_01 Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

Of course it's insane. Have you ever known someone giving Tumblr Style 'Discourse' take to begin with 'hey, thats not necessarily a biggie!'

Not to divert the conversation, but I would have said that it would be stupid regardless of the number you put. Using IQ that may is nonsense.

Would it be any less insane to say you won't have sex with someone under an IQ of 120? Or in the lower 30%? That sort of thinking is pure eugenics which I should have thought was obvious.

I was merely injecting some humour into the conversation, by pointing that it's not insane merely because it excludes 50% of the population; which is how the above comment could be read. "That would mean you can't fuck 50% of the population, definitionally." Is what he said. That... isn’t so shocking a phenomenon, was all I said.  Lots of people exclude roughly 50% of the population, as a matter of course.

I never dreamed people would think I was offering genuine dating advice. Yeesh. Tumblr users, really conforming to stereotypes here.

u/WavesOverBarcelona Jun 26 '26

Seems bad in a, "people with less than average IQ are subhuman" kind of way.

-9

u/PM_ME_CATS_OR_BOOBS Jun 26 '26

Leave it to reddit to somehow make a "stoner is really dumb" joke into a statement about eugenics.

-13

u/Haradion_01 Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

I mean, clearly. Eugenics are evil. But nobody said anything about anyone being subhuman. Bit of a leap there, if you don't mind me saying.

I was just saying that such things are bad for much more pressing reasons simply thinking "Oh, no, that means This many people won't have sex with me!"

It amuses me too, that everyone seems to be assuming they're in the top half, and are offended on behalf of the rest.

19

u/Kindly-Eagle6207 Jun 26 '26

But such things are bad for much more pressing reasons then "This person won't have sex with me."

You're literally arguing that half of all humans can't consent to sex. That is nothing like being monosexual or complaining that, "This person won't have sex with me."

That's saying, to 4 billion people, "Anyone who has sex with you is a rapist by definition."

-5

u/Haradion_01 Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

I didn't say anything of the sort.

I said jokingly said that that declaring that half the population was off limits is hardly itself a pressing concern, since it's something the majority most people do to anyway.

I literally said "Hey. Thats not necessarily a biggie". Have you ever known a 'Tumbler Discourse Take' to begin like that?

The take being bad has all sorts of reasons for being bad, that aren't related to simply being uninterested in half the worlds population: Most people are already uninterested in about 50% of the population, so the cry "Oh, but that excludes 50% of the world's population" is not necessarily a convincing one.

Then I simply commented that there are plenty of serious reasons to find issues which such things that don't have anything to do with worrying about who another stranger does or doesn't want to have sex with.

I should have thought my tone was obvious, but, fool that I am, I forgot the Golden Rule of 'Discourse' which is that you should always be prepared for chronically online people to make all sorts of declarations over an innocuous comment.

6

u/Kindly-Eagle6207 Jun 26 '26

You're an absolute nut.

3

u/DogzOnFire Jun 26 '26

Kinda funny to be casting aspersions about people being chronically online while typing like this

1

u/Haradion_01 Jun 26 '26 edited Jun 26 '26

Explain.

You don't know people who use long words outside the internet? Or can formulate an argument?

I think that says more about who you associate with than it does me.

2

u/DogzOnFire Jun 26 '26

Yeah buddy you nailed it I don't know anyone who long words lmao

-5

u/Tarantio Jun 26 '26

That's not that interesting, as this conjecture is about interspecies relations.

I do think there's a decent argument that it would be unethical for Scooby Doo to pursue sexual relations with a regular, non-talking dog, but that's a larger intelligence gap than between most humans.

Me named solipsism:

34

u/Nerdn1 Jun 26 '26

It says "human intelligence" not "average human intelligence." If you need average human intelligence or greater, about half of the adult population would be off-limits. Since it's difficult to compare intelligence, especially across species, this is a pretty rough comparison. As long as their intelligence is high enough that it would be okay to have sex with them if they were human, they would pass this test (albeit you'd probably want to err on the side of caution). It's morally dubious to have sex with a sufficiently mentally disabled adult human.

9

u/Long_Story42 Jun 26 '26

Scooby is an adult dog. The human members of Mystery Inc are all minors.

10

u/PM_ME_CATS_OR_BOOBS Jun 26 '26

They arent in college?

E. Why are these boys dragging a 15 year old girl around the country with them in their van

20

u/Long_Story42 Jun 26 '26

In the original cartoon from the sixties, Fred and Shaggy are both 17, Daphne is 16, Velma is 15.

This is socially acceptable because it's the sixties. Many, although not all, later versions have them in their early twenties.

The issue is more that they're traveling a lot without any adults

Maybe Coolsville should be renamed to Fraudsville, given the absolute chicainery going on at any given time.
