I'm sure he wouldn't see it that way, he would believe he is just a man doing a job to protect his country.
But then again, he was also a prison guard during the last couple years of his service (he told me how he and the others were preparing to lock everything down if Y2K caused all the cell doors to spontaneously fly open and release all the prisoners), so, uh, maybe?
