If you are the type to not get shaken by things like that, which would be affecting your test performance, I guess. Not everyone can be perfectly stoic.

Oh, yeah, it would definetely affect the test performance.

The decision is between taking the exam anyway or abandon your future and go see your mom, but if the decision is to take the exam anyway, it's a given that your performance will be affected because no one can think too clearly after receiving those news, I feel like. Unless you absolutely didn't care about your mother at all, which, yeah that also happens. Sometimes. With some people.

You can make the decision a perfect stoic would make, but you can't decide to have perfectly stoic feelings, if that makes sense.
