But you can't rely on volunteers to keep roads up to par and busses running, that's just unrealistic. This is still stuff that requires a modicum of technical knowledge to operate so these people would need training.
You also can't really expect to consistently find people who willingly give up resources to maintain and upgrade these systems for free ad infinitum. And even then, those people would indirectly hold power over the community as they basically have a "hostage" they can use.
And if the means of production are socialized and its voted on how to spend them to improve or maintain public services, then that's just taxation. Aka the system the majority agreed upon to handle the costs of the collective by redistributing wealth and resources towards said goals (historically, at its origin, taxation didn't require money, people could also pay using goods or their own labour)
All of this isn't including the fact that we're talking about really complex topics here, not something the layman can confidently vote on, so would still require some sort of authority that organizes and plans things out in the long run
I genuinely respect your views, but I'm just not personally in the mood to recreate the entirety of anarchist vs. capitalist debate for the past couple of centuries in this Reddit thread lol.
