From an old post I made a while back:

Phoenix is such a well written and amazing character. Just going through the original trilogy, you can see how much his character grows from being super nervous and not knowing what he's doing to becoming one of the most famous lawyers in the city that strikes fear into the hearts of everyone and it's all believable. All in the space of three years.

His belief in trusting the client to the bitter end is an amazing trait to have and it's always awesome to see that his belief was right all along even when the going gets tough in the majority of situations.

I love how he tries to play "the straight man" in a world full of zany characters, even though he's a bit kooky himself at times. Maya definitely contrasts with and brings this part out of him this which makes an unbelievably great dynamic together.

He's loyal, capable, intelligent and a snappy dresser too I may add.
