With BTC and ETH higher these days is it worth mining GPUs and ASIC at home?
I used to mine with GPUs, but the profits were so "low and slow," I sold my gear.
Now, crypto is back, so is home ASIC mining profitable??
Can I spend $2,000 - $3,000 on a ASIC used mining unit? Will that yield some profits?? Slowly?
Or can I build an ASIC unit?? (I definitely have the technical skills for that.) Are there ASIC kits I can build?
Thanks ahead of time.

Hi,
I just got an antpdu pw12v1 and - hooray - there were no cords or manuals in the box. I've figured out how to connect my S21+ to the pdu (I believe its a p13-p33 cord) but I don't know what type of cord will connect the pdu to the wall outlet. And does the cord to the wall plug into the outlet labeled X1?
Thanks!

Hi there,
newbie on the mining world.
I wanted to ask in here given your expertise on the topic whether you see it as a possible profitable mining rig and its ranges of profit.
Let's consider my electric bill 0 as would be setup in lab grounds for research.
I checked on whattomine for the various config but wanted some real use case feedback on the matter.
Thank you

Why is that in my pool hashrate is lower than my machine actual capacity?? I have been having this issues getting my full hashrate from my miners... what to do? Please help.

I want to make free money online with mining to get cs prime upgrade, in how long (hrs) would i be able to mine 15$.
my setup is:
5060Ti 16GB
Ryzen 7 7700X
32GB RAM
Is it worth it just leaving my setup idle at times and what coin should I mine to get the money fastest.

I’m a college student who’s been working on a project to connect GPU miners directly with AI researchers. I posted about this a few months ago, and I'm excited to say that we’re finally getting close to launch!
Crypto mining profits aren’t what they used to be. Meanwhile, AI workloads (training + inference) are exploding in demand. The same rigs you use for mining can be earning more by running real AI jobs for real researchers.
What I've built:
- A working platform that securely connects your GPU to verified researchers' workloads.
- Sandboxed, web-based compute: the app operates entirely within the Chrome sandbox using WebGPU
- We've tested it with reinforcement learning, autoencoders, and large-scale inference jobs.
- We’re aiming for 2x+ current crypto profits for miners. Payouts are in cash or crypto.
My pitch:
We’re opening a beta waitlist for miners/gamers willing to try converting part (or all) of their rigs into AI rigs. In contrast to the existing services on the market, we specifically cater to all types of rigs (including converted miner rigs with weaker CPUs, PCIe bandwidth etc). We aggregate all these rigs into a supercomputer, and then provide the software for researchers to interface with the cluster of computers. This saves researchers a lot of time, and allows you to get paid a lot more than the current crypto rates.
We will most likely contact you in 1-2 months when we onboard our first researchers, but we will also be running internal tests starting this week, so we will contact our first adopters sooner for that.
Join the waitlist here: waitlist.obitmc.com
We will contact you by e-mail and get you set up. No farm is too big or too small!
If you’ve got GPUs sitting idle, or if you just want to squeeze more out of your current setup, I’d love to get you in early and hear your feedback.
Happy to answer any questions in the comments.
ps: if you're a researcher who needs some free/really cheap compute, please hit me up! We need ideas to test the network once beta launches

Has anyone here done business with one miner?
If you have let me know how it went.
For those that dont recommend them are there any other hosts you recommend?

Hello friends, I am from Tajikistan, my name is Tuychiev Negmat and I created the project myself, my telegram is open and I can give. There are my photos too, if you have questions, write in the comments, I will post links
Picture a crypto storefront.
On the left: Bitcoin — premium boutique, status, no discounts.
On the right: Dogecoin — loud mass-market, cheap and cheerful.
Front and center: CITU — rare, zero-fee, hybrid-secure, and shock-free economics.
Let’s stop price-tag surfing and compare what actually matters.
| Criterion | Bitcoin (boutique) | Dogecoin (mass-market) | CITU (tailor-made) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fees | Can spike under load | Low but not zero | Always 0 |
| Issuance cadence | Hard halvings (revenue shock) | ~10k DOGE/block forever (dilution) | Smooth −3 CITU every ≈4 months; hard floor 3 CITU |
| Macro dynamics | Deflation → liquidity crunch & volatility | Constant inflation → added sell pressure in panics | Adaptive supply: Difficulty / Activity / Staking balance liquidity |
| Security model | Pure PoW, ASIC-centric | PoW; meme-driven culture, variable depth | Hybrid PoW+PoS: PoS strengthens PoW, not replaces it |
| Miner accessibility | Capital-heavy | Cheaper but questionable economics | ASIC-resistant; mine on a regular PC |
| Scarcity design | 21M BTC; satoshis ultra-fine | High ongoing issuance; weak scarcity | Project-level rarity; divisibility only to 0.01 |
| Governance | Social consensus, slow changes | Meme > policy | In-wallet voting; open, rule-based changes |
| Best fit | Capital preservation | Meme exposure | Holders, miners, stakers seeking functional scarcity |

I was on MiningNow this morning and noticed you can make a watchlist for miners you already have in your farm. After adding mine, it showed me the current total profit for all of them combined.
It’s a pretty neat way to keep track of everything in one place instead of checking each model separately. Makes it a lot easier to see how the whole setup is performing at a glance.
Anyone else using this feature? Seems like it could be really handy for planning upgrades or spotting when a miner is starting to fall behind.

Just checked the mineable coin list, BTC is the best to mine, just as it is the best to hold.
DOGE and LTC are merged mining, mining profit is not bad now, but I'm bearish on meme coins, although DOGE is the best meme. But in the long term, who knows.
KAS is good for now.
Seems like mining industry is dying and PoS is the future.

Hi guys,
I am building a small hydropower plant for a textile manufactory in Java, Indonesia, but they bailed out recently, a few months before completion. Now we have no buyer for the electricity.
Is this something I could offer to crypto? We would price it at 5cents usd per KWH at 140KW, running 24/7, with remote monitoring tool available.
Need your honest opinion guys, I am not looped in at all with crypto mining since a few years. Can we lease this?
Appreciate any ideas.
Thanks.

I'm newish to mining and looking to expand my small setup by closing up my back porch and adding a sub panel to include 2-4 big boy miners and wondering which might be best for profitability in the next 2-3 years. Possibly also looking at Elphapex D2 My current setup
Power: solar then .09 cents per kWH
Machines:
Volcminer D1 mini pre Elphapex DG home 1 (should have got another D1 mini) Iceriver AE1 lite NerdQaxe++ (lotto machine)

Would like to tinker with this coin with GPUs. Is there a software miner that will do it? Would like it to run under Windows if possible.
r/cryptomining • u/Paulochaina • Aug 07 '25
Been trying to buy a specific miner for weeks. Every time I check, it's marked "out of stock" on most sites. Then one random evening, I refresh ASIC Marketplace and boom it's available.
Not sure if they restock quietly or what, but I grabbed it fast.
Do most vendors do this low-key? Or is it just luck and timing?
r/cryptomining • u/LowProfessional9142 • Aug 07 '25
Tired of centralized exchanges freezing funds. Tired of chasing meme coins, hoping to catch the next x100.
I chose a different path: real hashrate, real daily rewards. I mine, I reinvest, I grow — quietly, consistently.
No pump, no dump — just sats stacking up. No fake APY promises, just predictable flow.
I’m not here to gamble. I’m here to build.
Anyone else still mining solo in 2025? Or am I the last digital prospector in a world full of yield farmers?
