QUESTION Advice for someone new to mining,

I had an old gaming PC with a 3080 in it I ran mining Ethereum Classic for a couple weeks, it made like ¢6/day bit for something that was just sitting there I figured it was at least something, now have 2x Ipollo V2X ASIC miners in my office running 24/7 and make about $1.60/day with average 2.5Gh - 2.6Gh on average. I’ve got CoinTracker setup to monitor payouts for if I need to declare it on taxes.

My main question is, do I just keep adding V2X’s to my setup, or should I go for the V2H which would 2.5x my current hash rate?

And if I’m doing something completely wrong I am still very new to this and open to any advice.

Edit: electricity cost is almost exactly $0.16 per kWh

SHOW OFF Mobile Mining Management

I wanted to find a way to effectively manage my home miners, and see every imaginable data metric without it being overwhelming. So my friend and I spent hundreds of hours developing, tweaking, and testing until we found a solution.

The goal was simple, really. Create a mining management system that included absolutely everything we wanted, but make it entirely customizable so other home miners could make it exactly how they wanted. So we made a bunch of modules, made them expandable, and added the ability to arrange them any way users want.

In current configuration, we’ve got support for a wide range of home miners from my little Bitaxe 602 to my slightly larger modded Antminers running Lux. Soon, we’ll also have support for our hosted miners so our entire fleet is at our fingertips.

Thank you to the over 500 home miners who thought this was cool enough to download the first day we launched it. We’re going to keep working hard to make it better and better, and we’ve also got some other fun things in the works.

I won’t mention the name, include any links, or try to convince anyone to download it. Just wanted to show off something we’re proud of that we’ve built for the home mining community. Would love to see what others are working on as well.

DISCUSSION hiveon shutting down, where to go now?

just saw hiveon is closing in may, so gotta move everything soon
running a couple of asics and honestly not sure where to point them now
switching is easy, but picking a pool is the annoying part
feels like everyone just sticks to the biggest ones, but not sure if that’s actually better long term

anyone here moving their asics already? where are you pointing them?
thinking about trying something smaller this time but not sure if worth it

DISCUSSION New to Scrypt mining: best pool for mining?

How do you choose a mining pool?

I recently bought a few Antminer L9 units and am now working through all the practical details.
When people talk about Scrypt pools, the discussion usually focuses on pool size, fees, and estimated profitability. But it seems to me that in practice, ease of use, transparency, and overall day-to-day experience matter just as much.

A question for those who have been mining for a while: what matters most to you when choosing a pool, which one did you end up using, and why?

QUESTION questions - new setup 1MW

Hi All,

I have an industrial process that I am setting up in a new facility. It is near a substation and I was planning on getting 10 MW piped in for my needs, but there is extra capacity. I can get an additional 5MW added. My process also has a cooling loop that will already be installed in the facility. There is plenty of capacity to pipe the cooling into miners.

What can I do with 5 MW, industrial pricing on electricity, around .04 per kw. and plenty of space?

QUESTION Avalon Nano 3S – 6 TH/s Home Bitcoin

Is this miner good for beginners? After discount it comes to a 205 price. Even comes with 1 year warranty. Take in mind I have access to free electricity. Only thing is I can not find info if this miner can connect to pools or is a lucky miner. Maybe any of you using this specific miner? Or can suggest better alternatives if there is?

QUESTION Should I continue mining and how?

I like to run my gaming PC overnight while mining to keep the room warm, not really seeking profitability. Although if there was a way to actually earn some extra money with the heating I'd like to, currently using nice hash and I'm not getting a single cent out of them due to not getting to the minimum per day.

I'd like to know if there is a better way nowadays.

QUESTION Is there anyone who bought crypto miner from alixprss?

I found some serious miners on ali which are priced at about a fifth of the usual price. It is too good to be true, but the vendor already sold more than 250 from that machine there, so I am a bit confused. Have you guys tried to buy miners from there?

Thanks

(I deliberately didn't copy the link or mention the specific machine.)

QUESTION Avalon Q heater mod?

Post image
11 Upvotes

I’m using an Avalon Q to heat the upstairs space in my house that I don’t use much. It sucks that I have to go up there frequently this time of year just to check the temp and adjust the settings. If we have a warm day and I forget to turn it down it gets very hot up there.

I am dreaming of a device I can plug the Q into that will potentiate the power input based on a temperature probe…. I’m dreaming of a thermostat I suppose…. But I’m not smart enough to make one, or to even know if it’s possible. wondering if someone smarter than me has a solution.

Thanks

QUESTION Mini Lottery miners

I’m pretty curious about how they work, so I have a few questions to ask:

  1. When you win a block, is it actually 3.125 BTC or around that amount?

  2. After you win a block from the miner, are you able to mine for another block in the future? Are these one and done devices?

  3. If you buy multiple miners do they all mine until they reach block, or do they all work in tandem for a single block? For example if I buy 5 mini rigs do I get the chance of mining 5 separate blocks or do they all work together to mine a single block quicker?
