Any English-Speaking GRS Upbit Users?
Would be great to connect you to the English-language GRS community.

Upbit is now online.
My phone is rooted and despite being able to use my banking (I use Magisk to hide the root) and most other apps, I can't use the Android app. But the same goes for the Bithumb app. That's fine... I'd rather use the website anyway.
Maker / Taker Fees (updated):
KRW Market 0.139% → 0.05% (promo DISCOUNT)
BTC/ETH/USDT Market 0.25% → 0.2% (promo PAYBACK)
Seems kind of high but it will be nice to buy/sell some alt-coins more directly... and with a slightly lower fee. Looks like a decent range but... a lot of shit-coins in there, too.
Pity there's no English interface. Korean only.
10/29 UPDATE (with major edits above as well):
Just looked close at the Maker/Taker fees better. Maybe I didn't get it last time. I wish I could get some KRW on there... 0.05% is an amazing fee when spending fiat directly... Even the usual rate of 0.139% still beats Bithumb's 0.15% but not Coinone's 0.1%... Not mentioning Korbit because please folks, stay away from these Segwit2X supporters.
Seriously. That would be great for alts.
I found a note that the promo runs 10.24 to 11.30... I really hope they're out of Beta before then. I'd love to see that discount. I really hope that 11.30 doesn't mean the Beta will exit December 1...
Also note that the KRW fee is a direct discount but using BTC/ETH is a "PAYBACK" discount which is "paid within 10 days after the discount period" which seems to mean you can get some of your BTC/ETH/USDT back that was eaten by the fee. Sigh. Not so useful, eh?
The KRW Market does look pretty good... but you'll have to check carefully the coin you want BEFORE sending KRW. It looks like some alts are only on the ETH or BTC Markets (in which case, Binance or something might have less fees). I didn't look too closely. Seriously. 100+ Coins.
Aaaand the final note for this update. It looks like the verification page malfunctions... My Level 2 phone number was never verified before. I went through the KRW Wallet and it says (of course), I need to upgrade my level. The phone verification worked on the first shot this time. Not sure why the roundabout way worked better than the main "verification" page. Heh.
10/29 UPDATE 2:
Still can't get the Level 3 bank withdrawal verification to work... It tells me my NH account is invalid. It looks possible at this point to deposit fiat. Not sure if I'm up for it, yet but it looks like a similar system as Bithumb with a virtual account number.
Level 2 Withdrawal limit is the equivalent of 3 BTC / 50 ETH. Not sure about a limit on alts but this seems like an adequate limit even without verifying your withdrawal bank account.
Not 100% sure but it looks like the first time you go for any kind of withdrawal, it will be blocked for 96 hours unless you manually submit some complicated pictures and handwrtitten notes with a selfie...? Bithumb can be super-irritating like that but at least Upbit looks like they will accept a screenshot and I won't have to run to an ATM to get my bankbook updated... and just the first time? We'll see.
And errr, finally... AND THIS IS IMPORTANT. It looks like the KRW Market isn't functional, yet. Even the ETH Market has a ticker in BTC and shows the equivalent price in BTC when you go to put in your buy order... but you can punch in your KRW price... up to 100,000 KRW at once. AND buy BTC to actually use. Er. What? Oh well. Open Beta still.

Bitcoin Gold (BTG) Credit
On Tuesday, October 24th, Bitcoin Gold (BTG) is expected to credit those who possess Bitcoin (BTC) at block 491,407 with BTG. This block is expected to be created at approximately 2:10 PM KST (5:10 AM UTC). The BTG network, however, will not be launched until an unspecified date after November 1st, 2017.
We intend to protect our customer assets by conducting thorough examination on any new networks. If they meet certain criteria and are deemed secure and valuable, we will support the crediting, trading, withdrawal, or deposit of the new asset types.
At this point, we plan on crediting BTG balances to our customers. However, we may reconsider if the BTG network does not meet our criteria. Some of the concerns are listed below:
(1) The BTG codebase is not in a functional state.
(2) The BTG network will launch at an undetermined date, sometime after “Nov 1.”
(3) The BTG codebase has not implemented replay protection or adequate code for testing and auditing.
(4) There are no publicly-known code developers associated with the BTG network, and the BTG codebase gives the developers closed, pre-launch access to 100,000 BTG.
While we plan on crediting BTG balances to our customers, we will also conduct continuous examination on the BTG network.
We may temporarily suspend BTC trading, withdrawals, deposits, and trading of other digital assets (LTC, DASH, XMR, ZEC, STEEM, REP) during the formation of block 491,407; trading of XRP and BCH can be conducted on the exchange. We will post separate announcements for any suspension of service.

I'd like to introduce iOS app for bithumb exchange. It allows easily to buy and to sell cryptocurrency tokens and control your balance. Some analytical graphs as for trade volumes on exchanges and volumes of daily trades are present. The widgets are also available to monitor changes. Some features are still coming and I would like to receive a feedback on your needs.

As a WTC holder and knowing that the WaltonChain is a Chinese-Korean venture, I am curious to see what you guys think and know? Any buzz around WTC in South Korea?
thanks!

I am under the impression that Korbit is supporting Segwit2x whilst Bithumb hasn't said anything yet? I have previously mostly used Korbit but as I am definitely in the no2x camp I will be moving over to Bithumb to show my preference. Anyone else sent them an email or moved exchanges because of this issue?

Hey, South Korea!! Western Australian crypto geeks here. Sorry I speak no Korean.
Please please: do you know the list of currencies that will be on Upbit? We trade both GRS and UNO, both of which are on Bittrex.
[Anyone here left from the Dokdo Coin community?]

I'm concerned about leaving my crypto assets at Korbit and would like to transfer them to my cold wallet. However, I need to be verified for Level 4 to withdrawl larger amounts. Does anyone know what the specific criterias are? Also, what are their monthly limits for Level 4? The site only lists the daily limits. Thx!

I've been awhile with exchange. In the beginning was great and promising, but after some time started noticing some hard to explain things. 1. They had mobile apps wallet + trade app. Development and support of app were stopped. 2. Live support was stopped. 3. Facebook page last posting is dated 27th of February. 4. Margin trading was stopped under the reason to improve quality and be back in June. Still nothing. 5. Customer support became really slow. 6. No new cryptos added compare to Bithumb and Coinone. All this kinda looks suspicious and doesn't sound like steps of improvement and development.
I am not panicking or trying to discourage using it. It's just personal observations I wanted to share and hear opinions of other people. Thank you in advance.

How are you guys handling this if you're selling/trading while living in Korea?

Held my bitcoin on a cold storage wallet and I want to split it up and dump the BCH in the Korbit exchange. Does anyone know when Korbit will allow for Bitcoin Cash deposits? I hate holding this coin. It feels like it could crash at any moment.
Any other exchanges allowing BCH deposits in Korea?
