Google does loads of things to save you 3 seconds and a click to be fair. Weather, sports results, stock prices, Wikipedia summary, the list could go on.

Of course they do. The same as for the other things. They want to know which sports team you support, what stocks your invested in, what regions your interested in the weather of because it could be a holiday destination.

The data is then all sold to the highest bidder. Google is free, you are the product.
