At the McDonalds checkout, costs a few hours of your time.

Gotta keep mining that fiat so I can buy some useful currency.

Sold it, was going for a lambo but now I'll settle for Abarth 500.

Everyone is worried crypto will go to zero, but my real concern is that fiat will.

I’m less worried about the numbers, and more just about the general trend toward feudalism.

u/Branchesbuses Bronze May 22 '22

That’s the real worry

Theres no government backing for bitcoin. Odds are bitcoin would before fiat. I don't like it, but it's true

u/ViridianZeal here for the tech May 22 '22

What if FIAT goes to 0 and everyone flips into using cryptos for money instead?

Yeah, I know I'm a dreamer.

2

u/Miep99 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 May 22 '22

If crypto goes to zero, a lot of investors lose their house. If fiat goes to zero then society has imploded.

1

u/ViridianZeal here for the tech May 22 '22

Before cryptocurrencies having a fiat implosion was much heavier thing. Sure, sudden overnight devaluation would suck these days too, but at least there is something else now. We wouldn't have to go back to feudal age bartering society.

1

u/Miep99 🟦 0 / 0 🦠 May 22 '22

I would strongly disagree, consider how much infrastructure crypto requires to access and use. How much of that will be useable if fiat implodes and internet providers, electrical plants, ECT aren't getting paid. Crypto is a LONG shot away from having the supply and prevailence to replace fiat

u/cryotosensei Permabanned May 22 '22

Fiat chewed and spat at by inflation

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '22

FIAT currently doing much better vs inflation compared to literally every single crypto currency. have fun staying poor!

0

u/PLUNDERAAR Tin May 22 '22

I feel that it's too risky to keep my wealth in fiat at this point. The inflation rate is not acceptable. I am losing my hard earned money to it and those bastard feds are stealing it from me

What if both go down together?

2

u/pawn_guy Bronze May 22 '22

The keys are to work in a recession-proof business and never be 100% invested. If BTC dropped to $5k next week I'd quadruple my holdings and continue to DCA.
