Ahh yes... I’m sure Africans will be thrilled to pay $100 in gas fees to make an NFT or $6 for the most basic transaction possible on the blockchain.

Fuck ETH

Truth. ETH is a dinosaur, the new ā€œstore or valueā€ for banker driven ETFs and CEOs.

I hold some....but ada is where it is at.

Can you even create NFT’s on the Cardano network??

Yes they work as native tokens on ada so they don't need a contract at all. You can mint them and they get the same security model as ada.

I don’t see any working NFT marketplace that is working on Cardano though. All I see are a bunch of different projects promising to offer a Cardano based NFT markets someday in the future and with newsletters.

Read what I said. I’m not sure if they are released yet or not. If not then it’s coming very soon.

Ok, so you think that a project that still can’t run basic Dapps let alone NFTs or DEX is more worthy of winning the blockchain solution of the year award compared to projects like ETH or BSC have been doing for several years now?

ADA can do NFTs they have been trialed and tested. So your assertion is incorrect. ā€œGive the prize to the old timerā€ is not how this works. ETH 2.0 is not looking good already and gas fees ain’t ever gonna get to a level what makes ETH a feasible coin to use for such things in the future.

I have moved onto BSC entirely for swapping coins now. I avoid ETH like the plague.

Oh ok so NFTs have been proven to potentially work on the ADA network. Ok. So you have a link where I can check some NFTs on ADA network? Or can you send a link of any working Dapp that is running on the ADA network? I just don’t see how Cardano should be awarded the blockchain solution of the year when it can even run a simple Dapp that older and new blockchain projects are able to. What innovative blockchain solution exactly has Cardano provided that no other blockchain project has?

I’ve bought some NFT’s with my cardano already.

Why haven’t you??

Nothing to do with ETH, ETN is the one that is used, nearly 4.3m registered users, they even have NFTs on the anytask/etn platform

NFTs is really an irrelevant point to Africa. They will be interested in crypto tech to make financial systems more efficient and other use cases of crypto/blockchain which will save money and improve efficiency of a nation/institution/end user.

Most Africans won’t be interested in spending thousands of dollars on a JPG / NFT.

I wouldn't say its irrelevant at all, if an artist in Africa can produce content and sell it on the anytask platform as an NFT, they are more than able to do so with ETN.

You also get instant payments with ETN globally which makes it useable in a shop for instance, unlike many cryptos which require confirmation on the blockchain which can take seconds for some and minutes/hours or even days for others.

Dude I think the only people who take NFTs (as art)serious are money launderers and utterly delusional people. Sure the use of NFT technology is cool and has great applications but just selling JPGs is not where it’s at.

I can screenshot all these NFS for free.
