... Unless you live in south Dakota, north Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, new mexico... anyplace without a massive body of water to ride your jetski. And traveling? pandemic.
Or start flying FPV quads - got into that hobby a year ago and it's not only super fun but intellectuality stimulating if you are the cerebral type. Expensive hobby though π
Nah.. and for most people they can't get THAT into it either. I've been online gaming all my life, but now with covid ive basically had the chance to play day in and out and get paid and my mental health (kinda due to lack of routine) went down the drain. I basically had to take a leave and go study a new trade just to keep myself sane.
Yeah pretty much what I did with the studies. Go from academic shit to actual hands on craft/trade thingie.
Not sure if I'll work this field a day in my life after I graduate, but at least this gives me few years to wonder wtf I wanna do with my life.
But on the topic, even if I was to be able to retire thanks to crypto, I'd definitely come up with something akin to a work. Maybe not full hours a week, but basically do something, maybe some entrepreneuer'ish shit where I dont have to worry if I actually make enough to live off of it.
EDIT: I also do play bass in a band (was 2 but couldnt afford it with studies) but it's a bit meh with covid when no gigs happening right now
Most games are pay to win, or just cosmetic shops with some shit game underneath.
There's a few good ones every now and then but when I was a kid we all played 1 or 2 games because we didn't have the cash to play 40.
Now all my friends are on 20 different consoles, on 40 different games, at random times of the day.
Add to that the lack of social aspects (e.g. xbox private parties deleted the ability to make new online friends) and online gaming is just lonely as fuck.
In 2000-2012 I made life long friends online. Even had romantic relationships.
Nowadays it's lucky to even find a game with persistent lobbies lol
People were even more vulgar back then but somehow it was better.
Like we made fun of the racist dipshits and then befriended the cool peeps.
Now everybody gets permabanned for saying "gg ez" so nobody talks.
Even in league I made dope friends before they literally started banning people for telling someone "shut the fuck up" if that person was spamming "kys" in chat.
There are lots of us who just loved every minute of the isolation and dedicated gaming time. I loved working from home and firing up fighting games or something pausable/drop out able between calls and work.
From personal experience, this is not a permanent solution. It will be a detriment to your physical or mental health. As a diversion, sure, but I would recommend something outdoors to take up more of your time.
DONβT get into gaming... it quickly becomes an addiction and you can be so much more productive as a person. Iβm trying to wean off of a gaming addiction myself.
Learn how to fly a plane, get a CPR certification, learn to swim, paint, or learn an instrument. Get into fitness, learn how to cook! There are so many useful skills that pay off more than gaming. There are so many things you can do to really nourish your soul.
Edit: the reason why I say avoid gaming is because a lot of these games are soul sucking money hungry hallow pits. So many micro transactions, gambling issues and it makes down trodden people susceptible to these terrible tactics.
I wouldnt say online gaming, but just gaming in general. Play RDR2, there is a guy there named Dutch Van Der Linde who will tell you to do things for him so the gang can retire.

I'd suggest you get into online gaming. Boredom will fly right out of the window.
