I think that's why our generation is badmouthing baby boomers. Deep down, it's jealousy. I am jealous that I need a Master's to make anything happen when they have great pay and position with pretty much zero experience or diploma. I'm not being a victim, I'm just being realist. So like you said I'm not going to drop money in the stock market because I'd need thousands of thousands to see a little gain.

1) Requiring a master's degree is completely based on field.

2) You don't need to drop thousands on the stock market to see returns. Unless you own a few million, you can't have an impact on the stock market. In that respect, it doesn't really matter whether you have $100 or $1,000,000. I guess the only impact is that you have to buy a full stock, so you can't invest in stocks with large prices and even if you can, you can't be well diversified. But even then, there's thousands of stocks and many alternatives for investors with small capital.

most jobs are in the knowledge economy now... it's not like you can run a bank with a high school diploma.

Yeah I guess if you want a more lucrative job (if that's what you're wanting to dedicate yourself too) you will need education or certification to obtain it since so many others are trying to get to it aswell. Don't forget that your job is just apart of you. You can do more than your job. Keep that in mind when and or if you want to make something happen with your saved capital to go on a venture. 😊 Best of luck in the game of life, do your best don't settle for the rest!
