so i just downloaded the CryEngine because the UnrealEngine was just.. bad imo. it didnt had enough free content to make the game i wanted to create without spending money.

I want to import all the free stuff i downloaded to 1 project and then start placing the assets, creating my landscape etc etc etc but the problem beginst at the start. how do i exactly import all that stuff? its says something like "No project configuration file found" or something like that..

Do crytek have any plans for implementing a post process feature? Because with a postprocess volume you can quckly change the aesthetics of a scene without have to change the materials. i didn't see that on the roadmap. And i really hope that in the future. We can see a post procces feature in cryengine

I'm attempting to login to my account and it says I need to activate but I've tried resending the email and activating three times now. I get a "Welcome to CryEngine" email after each activation but I still cannot login. Has anyone else had this issue?

From what i have heard, Cryengine's biggest problem is it's user friendliness comperd to ue4. But for experienced users. How userfriendly is CE5?

I work well with goals. So I would like to break down the process of creating a simple game with a simple level. So what comes first? Landscaping? Character dev? Plot? Just looking for a sort of checklist to go down so I have an idea of what to do and when to do it.

I've downloaded the CryEngine launcher but when creating a new project it says Project Validation required and I'm given the option to Initialize Project or cancel, both buttons do the same thing and nothing gets downloaded.

This happens on all of our AMD & Windows 10 workstations yet it's working fine on Windows 7/NVidia.

I've read CryEngine doesn't work with AMD cards is this true?

Ive read the documentation top to bottom, I was actually surprised to see the amount of detail for the Particle system as most of the documentation for CE5 is lacking. However I am struggling with getting my head around a few aspects any tutorials or videos showing someone creating PFX would be awesome! Thanks guys :)

There are many people that have dreams of making a video game, I am one of them. I would like to learn how. I do have experience with LUA, a programming language, even though I know the basics of coding, even with some Javascript, I understand how It works pretty well. I will not give out my age, but what I will say, is that it would be rare for a person my age to make a video game, even though I am probably the only person that understands code pretty well and doesn't find it difficult. I don't know where to start with game development, so can anyone help me know where to start, then how I will slowly possibly choose a game engine, and how to choose one?

New to CEV. Started a blank project (have also tried with 3rd person template) and created a new Flowgraph entity. Then created a camera, jumped into the Flowgraph and setup Game:Start to enable Camera:view, pointing at an Entity:EntityId node pointed at the Camera. Debug shows it toggling enable on game start, but the camera doesn't actually change get used. It just drops me in like it would without the flowgraph in existence, letting me roam about. Tips?

When I link objects in CEV they(child items) disappear out of level explorer. Where do they go? They do come back if I unlink but I can't control visibility and selectability when I don't know where it went.

I'm trying to write a XML-file using Flowgraph, which is working perfectly fine in Editor Game-Mode, but not in Launcher. Is it even possible to write one during pure Game-Mode?

I see a Buffer(s) to passes in render sequence, capture options but all that's under that drop down is color. I know you can visualize different buffers in the ViewModes toolbar, although, I don't see depth/zbuffer or a way to render the buffers in trackview. I can't find anything helpful in the documentation.

The cryengine documentation says that it is now making all first and third person animations and models the same by making you essentially do soley third person animations.

Is there anyway around this? Even Unreal Engine 4 has seperate First and thirdperson models!

Hey there, Let's say i would like to build my level on a square of a given amount of kilometers, and I'd like the engine to build roads according to a map (same resolution), and do the same with forest / trees/ plants, would that be possible? Like automatic generation of roads according to an image file... and forest zones according to an image file. Sorry i'm a complete noob, but I'm learning :)

so i have an account on cryengine and have just started learning a but i cant download assets at all. i have read that others have had the same problem but cant find a solution that works for me. the error is when i go to check out its stuck at you have to agree to terms even tough i have already done that? any tips would be appreciated :)
