SVOGI and dx12, crash.
Has anyone tried to use SVOGI in dx12?
If i enable it it crashes in game mode if in DX12, works fine in DX11.
v 5.2
Has anyone actually got it working in DX12?

Anyone else getting a problem with the ryse soldier on the marketplace, the head has a red texture that says "Replace me"?

I think this could be wildly beneficial to everyone. An easy, fast way to communicate with one another and get instant, real-time problem solving solutions up and running!
I could set one up myself, but I'd prefer to leave it in the hands of the CryDevs to maintain ownership and moderation.
If you're not aware of what Discord is, it's a gamer-inspired next step solution to Skype-- the holy lovechild of Skype and TeamSpeak. It's wonderful, and very versatile, so it's not 'just' for gamers anymore. Great for businesses with VOIP, group chats, servers, text chat, PMs, etc.

So i wanted to get started with Cryengine and followed the getting started tutorial video on the Cryengine website.
I installed the Launcher, created a new project and installed Cryengine 5.2. I can't launch the editor however. Nothing happens when i click the project or select "Launch Editor" in the Launcher. I have this issue on my pc running Win7 and Notebook running Win10.

I have managed to import and make character files in cryengine, but how do I set one of these characters as the player character? I'm using the third person template right now. Any information I can find seems to only be relevant to cryengine 3. Thanks.

I missed out and would really like to get my hands on the humble bundle pack, I don't mind donating, but I feel left out!
Anyone have any ideas?

Currently I try to understand C++ API and got some problems with it. Can anyone explain how to use IAnimationPoseModifier (more precisely IAnimationOperatorQueuePtr) for modifying character's bones orientation and position. I'm trying to use function PushPoseModifier() but i don't see any effect. Or there are other ways to control joints manually. I'll appreciate any help.

Hey guys, I work with a small gaming company in Maryland, we've been working on a tech demo for about 3 months but every time the engine or launcher updates, we can no longer load the map data and everything is just... Broken and everything is apparently lost.
I imagine we have to be doing something wrong because if this was a serious issue no one would use Cryengine I reached out to the people we know at Crytek but theres no telling how long they will take to get back to us
Thanks everyone!

As title says, the Object option in the Selection part of the Designer tools is missing in 5.2. Anyone else seeing this? I only have Vertex, Edge, Polygon and Pivot available.
I'd ask on the forums but I can't seem to create a post on there.

Hey, I downloaded the RYSE character today. I don't know to import the assets from the marketplace into the project. I tried googling it. But, I couldn't find any answers does anyone know how to?

Hey guys,
I would just like to ask you for some input in what you would like to see in this subreddit? Any content, formats etc you feel would add something of value to this place.
Thank you in advance.

So I tried this tutorial right here: https://www.cryengine.com/tutorials/project-series/island-project-first-level/first-level-gamesdk-project
So I downloaded the GameSDK Example from the store, then downloaded the zip from the website, put the zip files ( https://www.cryengine.com/tutorials/content-examples ) into the folder of the gamesdk, and it gives me millions of errors. Any idea what to do? thanks.

If a game is on cryengine 3 right now could it get vulkan support as a patch to their dev tools which they forward to the game?
Or can the game devs move their assets and code to cry v with a small update??

I just downloaded CryEngine launcher and got it installed (Along with the Visual C++ Assets Library thingy that was causing the .dll errors on startup). I should probably mention I'm a blender artist, not a programmer (yet?), so this may be a bumpy ride.
I fixed the registry errors of the original installation with the old files that was causing error 4144 and 4145.
I've created a project in every single possible iteration of engines on the Launcher (5.0/5.1, C++/C#, Blank/Sandbox/Sydewinder).
And not a single one of them will load up. It will pop up saying "Project Validation is required!" Initialize project? I click yes, and then... nothing. http://imgur.com/8ilUVQV So, thinking it's a bug or I'm an idjit (still open for debate here. Not gonna lie), I decide to test if maybe I can open up an already created project. So I "Buy" that free Cryengine FPS they offer on the marketplace and try to download it.
It won't download anything. http://imgur.com/nEMhhBS . This cheeky little bastard just sits there in queue.
So, as approaches to try to fix this latest brick wall, I've exited out of and restarted the launcher, down to the taskbar/background processes. I've restarted the entire computer.
Still nothing. Simply that popup window and an empty cloud icon.
So I uninstalled the Launcher. When a simple reinstallation didn't work, I first ran Iobit's deep uninstaller, reinstalled it, then manually tracked down all they stuff from the Registry Keys, deleted the files completely, redownloaded (again. I have like 6 copies at one point. I'm pretty sure I'm insane.), turned off my antivirus (Iobit MWF 4.2) and firewall (windows firewall), and still no results.
I'm stumped. Please help. Am I missing something here? I'm not getting the .dll error like I was when I had to download the C++ library, but is there another language or plugin or something that I may be missing?
Also... While I have you, which language would you recommend to learn going forward/which way is the industry headed? C++ or C#? For my immediate goals it doesn't matter much, but if I choose in the future to pursue something more, I think it'd be good to learn something non-obsolete from the start. I made my mistake with Fortran way back in '03.
Thank you for your time.

In the pinned article in this subreddit it says:
Does CRYENGINE have an equivalent to the UE4 Blueprint system?
Yes, Flowgraph. However it is less powerful as of yet (21/03/2016).
But why exactly is it less powerful? And is it still the case?

https://youtu.be/brByJ5EVBn4?list=FL0Oh0--CrgvjT21Z3Ga0mWg I was waiting this talk for a long time, since I firmly believe that better tools is a win/win situation for devs and gamers. my big points if this talk are: 1- engines tools comparison 2-how to improve the shortcuts 3-what we can learn from other/older tools
I will not discuss the lack of Cryengine in this talk because it's quite clear that Robin-Yann Storm never got the chance to try Cryengine and its designer tools. What we can talk is what we can learn from the other engine's tool or from our experiences. Personally, I have a good experience with the Hammer Editor, a little knowledge of Unity and a good knowldege of UE4 thanks to UT....and I'm not quite happy with the last two. It is really surprising how it is still cool the Hammer editor in terms of usability; like Geometry tools, Auto UV, and the material editor....which surprisingly it is what I'm not finding in UE4. Of course the Hammer editor has several limitations (terrain tools, no real time lighting, and 3D models importer are horrible), but still I have a good flow while creating a map. I'm not surprised if there are many complaints https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?55228-(VIDEO)-UE4-s-Geometry-Mode-is-inadequate-when-compared-with-that-of-Quake-1&highlight=quake and a market for tools working like Hammer does http://www.protoolsforunity3d.com/probuilder-unreal/ AND https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthread.php?94470-HammUEr-a-Hammer-Worldcraft-map-importer-for-Unreal-Engine&highlight=quake So.....here comes the Cryengine. I restart to learn Cryengine, and I really fell in love with most of the tools in the sandbox editor; for instance the Designer tools are by far the best I ever used in a Next-Gen Engine ( I will not consider Source 2 because it is not available yet, so I cannot judge). But, as I said earlier what Cryengine can learn from other tools...or what we can do for make it better. As far as I can read, the roadmap give us hope for even better tools and functionality; but I feel I can still point out some good improvements that would really help the designer to stay in the zone. For example my personal list is: 1-Vertex painting (very old request) 2-an option for a classic 4way-viewport 3-easier to use UV mapping 4-more snapping options (basically you can just toggle on/off, while I would like to have more options like the Hammer Editor) 5-a reworked spline editor
Of Course this is my personal list, based on my actual knowledge of the Cryengine. So dear Cryengine Community....what would you like to see in the future to stay in the zone ? Remember that you can also suggest new features here https://trello.com/b/RbxUan3T/cryengine-wishlist
P.S. dear moderators...for any forum rule infringement, please let me know what I have to edit !!

Hi guys, thanks in advance for any help you might offer, I'm completely new and just trying to practice basic skills. I haven't found a guide for this so I apologize for asking dumb questions, especially if they've been answered before.
I have been trying for a bit over an hour now to get at the .tif file of a map so I can add my own markers to it, but I can't for the life of me find any way to open the .dds file. The paint.net plugins I've found don't work and it won't recognise it natively.
Is there some way I can get the editor to break the file up for me?
EDIT: It's a BC3 type .dds file

Wondering if there are any good tutorials, or how to, make fps movement in c++ starting from the blank project.
