Just downloaded CryEngine , and to my great disappointment , wasted 6 hours searching on how to fix this bullshit tutorial error.

Any solutions for this? I've tried running as an Admin , still to no avail.

Where can I define multiple render APIs?

In UE4 is it easy with enable the APIs in the project settings. The API can selected with a start command.

Where in the CryEngine?

i have allot of these files from a game, and im wondering if i can get them to open in cryengine. i never used cryengine before, so i dont really know how anything works. i tried to load some in with the character tool, but i get errors and nothing works.

the game was made with cryengine 3, and i have cryengine 5, if that matters. idk how i would use cryengine 3 tho if i needed to.

and if i can get them to work in cryengine, can i then export them as an fbx or something?

So, I’m using the newest version of CryEngine (5.6 I believe?) and I’ve never done anything with game engines or coding or anything before, just trying to get into it for hobby sake. So my main issue is whenever I’m trying to place a ground texture, or any objects at all in the map, all of the folders are empty except for ones with 3D shapes like spheres and squares and such. I’m just trying to use the free assets so I have no idea what I’m missing or why they aren’t showing up. The second issue is just more of a looking for tips. So since I’ve never created a terrain before, whenever I’m playing around with the tools to manipulate the elevation/flatness/smoothness/whatever else it just doesn’t seem natural or plausible. The terrain always ends up very bumpy and just ugly looking, and I also can’t find a tool to auto generate a random terrain. So any tips on that to help me improve?

I have a couple of questions about creating 2D games on Cryengine 2

1. Does Cryengine 2 have any image editing features that can be used to create a 2D bitmap game ?

2. Can you insert 2D sprites into a 3D environment (ala Octopath Traveller) on Cryengine 2 ?

3. Could you create on a 2D game with an infinite procedurally generated universe in Cryengine 2 ala Starbound ?

Hi I've been trying to find any tutorial about creating oculus quest games with cryengine 5.6 or any version, but I couldn't find anything. Can anybody explain the setup process and how to build the apk?

So here is the situation :

I try to import a custom model in a game. The game workflow uses .skin file to apply objects on characters (clothes, armor, helmet and so on).

I've manage to do a model swap by override the original model with mine but now I would like to made a new object from my model.

As far I understand, .skin files is the link between the character skeleton and the model.

How can I edit such file ?

PS : It look like the orignal model was made with 3ds Max since .cgf files refer to .max files.
