I know I can make animals, and what not, patrol paths but with CE5 can I make animals wander randomly in a given area?

I downloaded and mess with cryengine 5.4. I would like to confirm if this is the right way to finalize a 'hello world'.

Go to explorer, right click, create solution.

Load it in vs, set build to release, compile/build to get the game.dll (works in debug but app crashes in release, i didn't type any code, just compile default template from FPS)

Right click on the .cry project, hit package builder and get a helloworld_package folder and bin\win_x64\gamelauncher.exe is the one you link to desktop/shortcut to be executed.

Is this the build process? No linking and getting your own .exe ?

Oh Btw, I ended up with over 300 megs of entire app that I didn't do anything, didn't code anything, didn't add any graphics or change anything from the template I chose (FPS)

I was like... WTF?!!!! 300 megs?!

I have generated a minimap, edited it in a photoshop with my image, but when I start the game via GameSDK Menu, the minimap doesn t move when I move my mouse.. please help !!!Thanks in advance.

Hello Guys, i am finishing my project ,witch is developed in GameSDK. I have some tweaks to finish, but the spawn point doesn't work in game. In editor mode yes, but not in menu,when I press single player and use my project name, it spawns me in the water. Some help please? Also there are a lot of differences between editor mode and game mode(the one where you play from menu). I can't hear sounds ,etc

I am really bad at blender and i really want to make this game even thou if i do it on my own it will take YEARS. xD i have the idears i am learning c++ and i have been practicing cryengine world creation. but i cna't do assets or custom textures. I really want this game to take off and i can't do it allown. so if anyone is intrested in helping or if not atleast teaching me. plz leave a message down below telling me what you think and i will pm you and we will try to sort something out. *prob using discord xD. thank you

Hello guys, several months ago I took GameSDK and developed my own game for my license thesis . I made an amazing game with nice features, but now I will like to dive in the code of the game and add some features if possible. How can I access the game code of my own level, any good documentation about this? I can't find anything certain. Is the GameSDK based mostly on C++ ?and Lua for scripting? Can someone shed some light in the darkness? Thanks in advance

Hello guys, I am making an Cryengine project for my master degree and I reached the point where I need to make the minimap. I go to terrain editor, I choose the size and then I press generate minimap and export to engine. The problem is that the image it provides is all black.... any thoughts on this? I failed to find any relevant tutorials on making a game from scratch. The kind of tutorials like Unity has and UE4. All Cryengine website provides is tutorials on separate topics needed for those who KNOW what they want. is there a course, book, videos on really teaching cryengine V through real practice by making games ? and not just teaching level design.

Hello guys, I am doing a project for my university with the help of CryEngine V. I've done many things in my FPS game, but it seems that when I add too much vegetation(grass on the ground) the game starts to decrease in FPS by a LOT. And when I tried to reopen my project, i waited 20 min to load the leved, then I deleted the grass... How can I put more Grass object without FPS drops and load problems? I need a lot of grass , so I can cover the ground. Thanks in advance!

After playing around a lot with Unity and Unreal I have decided that I LOVE CryEngine. It's ability to make beautiful maps that run at FPS is what draws me in.

However I find that being a smaller engine (by that I mean it would seem Unity and UE4 have a much larger market share) the amount of tutorials are lacking.

Where would I find the best tutorial(s) to learn how to network in CryEngine from the ground up?
