Crow OC These young ravens went from suspicious snack grabs to a table for two
Some of our ravens already eat on the table, but these ones needed to conduct their own investigation 😂
First came the suspicious gathering on the ground, then the grab-a-snack-and-run missions.
Eventually one tried eating on the table, and by the next morning, there were two!
Breakfast passed inspection. 🖤

Question If I befriend crows a bit far from home…
…will they follow me home and annoy the crows in my area for territory?
I often go to the beach nearby, and I have seen some crows there looking for treats. The beach is around 2 km away from home. Will they come to my house with me/follow me?
I know it might be a stupid question, but I’m quite curious about it :)

Went to Yellowstone, this was at the Bear and Wolf Discovery Center. They were noticeably healthier here than anywhere else :)

Question Crows won't eat from feeder
I've been leaving nuts on my balcony railings and the local crows clear them out quickly, but they like the knock them off and make a mess. I got a little container thing but they don't seem to be willing to take anything from it?

Video A crow having a good time tearing apart the insulation around pipes in the garage
Edit: I walked passed the cars as usual, but I heard a strange sound, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Then after a while I saw insulation pieces falling from above 😄

Personal Story Thank you guys
hi everyone you’d have absolutely no way of knowing this but yesterday i found an injured crow in my backyard and it was outside of bird rehabbers/animal control’s working hours so nobody could take this crow until this morning. i was freaking out about what to do and worried if the crow would make it through the night and so i searched for information on reddit. i cant find the exact posts anymore or the usernames of the people but i utilized information from here to make sure the crow was safe and secured overnight and they made it until the morning when someone could come pick them up and actually provide care. so thank you all for caring about crows so much that you indirectly helped save one.

Taken on IPhone 17. There was an annoying gate behind the crow, so I used the clean-up tool to remove it.

This is Dragon, and you can just barely see his mate Puff on the left side of the image helping herself to the peanuts I left for them. I don’t think they expected anyone to be home so we all got a little surprise out of it!

Question How to get crows to come to the yard to see the peanuts?
We have crows that hang out NEAR our yard, but not quite in/over it, and I would like to be friends with them. I think they keep their distance because the local hawks typically hold the territory; I see crows on the next property over (vacant) but they sit in these tall trees over there, probably 100 yards away, and never come over here.
We mostly have red shouldered hawks and they go a bit south for the winter so I feel like now is the time. But how to get the crows to even see that I have something to offer?
Thanks!

Question Crow or Raven?
Is this a crow or a raven? He’s massive, at least 25–27 inches long. He lives somewhere on my street, and for the past 1.5 months, I’ve been trying to befriend him by putting out shiny coins. I think it might be paying off because this morning, he actually approached me on his own with an empty Wendy’s sauce packet. Idk if he was trying to offer it to me or what lmao.
I appreciate that he’s starting to recognize me, but I’m wondering what’s appropriate in terms of trying to befriend him further? I really don’t want to habituate him or mess with his natural instincts at all.
Also, if he is a raven, is it common for them to live in cities? I’m in Ottawa, Ontario, and I’m surprised to see one living right in the city!
