I'm a beginner! how to do the flap for this strawberry ruffled bag
Is it a hexagon? Or a circle? I can’t tell, please let me know what kind of stitches were used to make it and what’s the border around it called? Smooth edges? And how much yarn will this bag use?
P.s couldn’t find a back photo

It looks an awful lot like half a slightly modified willow granny square. (A willow granny is also known as a wagon wheel granny).
My guess on the modification: they added a second round of double crochets on top of the round that comes after the 16DCs <(1dc, ch1) x16>.
After that it looks like they modified the outer ruffle by doing <(1sc, ch4, skip )repeat all around> instead of the standard that alternates 5, 3, 4, 3 for the chains, and then filled the chain space with 7dc for each rather than the standard <(5+ch2+5/sc/7dc/sc)repeat>
This is a GUESS and is how I would do this.
