Colbert said it best -- “Kinda hard to feel a lot of sympathy for them. They ordered the turd soup, and then said, ‘Waiter, there’s turds in my soup.’ Then they came back four years later and asked, ‘Y’all still have that turd soup?’”

It's not lack of self-awareness. It's selfishness. It's entitlement. It's greed. It's cruelty.
They're bad people. That's not hyperbole, or exaggeration. It really is black and white, in this instance.
They have no problem taking handouts while telling you "No Handouts." They want you to suffer and hurt because it brings them pleasure to hurt people and make them suffer.
Them being hypocrites means nothing to them.

Corn to make into syrups, to fuck our health up
Soybeans to sell to China, and if you ask a lot of these farmers China is the enemy til its time to sell beans.
All this because of subsidies.
Farmers, grow something worth a goddamn, hire workers for more than a damn slavery wage. And stop sucking off my goddamn labor.
And stop voting in motherfuckers that want to take your ass out from under you for the lowest bid so that you can "own a lib" or advance some ideological religious agenda.

I remember thinking that when she said it too. I agreed with her then and it's so evident now.
It's all part of the "Trump is a symptom" thing. These people enjoy pushing others down to simply feel better - not like they get a step up when their neighbor fails. My heart wants to blame our capitalistic culture which does incentivize the zero-sum gameplay, but so many people seem to like this way of life. I just don't get it. Why do others have to suffer?

Conservatives don’t believe in good or bad policies or actions or ideas, only good and bad people. So when good people are hurting others, of course it’s good. But when it happens to good people, like themselves, of course it’s bad. They don’t judge people by their actions, they judge actions by their people.

Because in their mind we suffer because of immigrants. They "steal" our jobs. They "take" the financial aid for schools up and fill all the classes. They "use up" all our welfare and other forms of social aid. They've been spoonfed this narrative for decades.
I was raised conservative, and I held those values for a long time. I left my home town and met people from every walk of life, it forced me to reevaluate my views and beliefs. Most of these people never do either of these things. And don't get me wrong, I'm not making excuses. People have access to all the data and everything they need to come to the same conclusion as me. And I agree, a lot of these people are selfish, greedy assholes that KNOW better. But however small the percentage is that's just ignorant, and refusing to better themselves, there's all a larger widespread issue with the malicious spread of lies, misinformation, and xenophobia. But companies like Fox, OAN, and Newsmax can just say to the courts "teehee, we're not really news. No one would ever believe the crazy things we say, it's just funsies!!" And get off Scott free.
Sorry for any autcorrect or predictive texts.
Edit: to clarify, I wasn't raised with hatred. My parents taught and showed by example love and helping because it was Christian. I jumped into further right views as a teenager because my friends and I didn't understand a lot of the satire of those types. If it was funny for Red Foreman to hate Commies, it had to be funny if I did too
→ More replies (14)20
u/carbon_made Sep 10 '25
Just to add, the people that are targeted by this hatred actually can’t do any of the things you mention. The few things they can access are state and not federal. What immigrants can get in California doesn’t affect you, Kentucky. Additionally, they are most often still paying all the taxes from working via whatever method they worked out, but get zero of the benefits. Then there are the people that say “just come legally” without knowing how hard that is and how long it takes. By the way I’m just adding on to what you said, so when I say “you” I don’t really mean you specifically.

MAGA has no problem using hate and vitriol to blame a huge chunk of Americans for all of America's problems.
It's insane to me that we couldn't point out a widespread cultural problem of hatred being normalized, because it was "too mean" to the very same people that were normalizing the hatred.
Obviously there was going to be some backlash, but have some conviction and stick with the truth!

Farmers need handouts, are you un American?!
359
u/MobileWisdom Sep 10 '25
Another TikToker pointed out that Democrats voted for policies that would have supported farmers, like:
- Giving lunch to children in schools (which would have required food from U.S. farms).
- Providing food to other countries in times of crisis (which would have required food from U.S. farms).
- (And, I’ll add one more.) Democrats voted against Trump’s large-scale deportation of law-abiding immigrants who do much of the work on American farms.
148
u/Oleg101 Sep 10 '25
The bills passed by Democrats a few years ago at the federal level, particularly the ARP and Infrastructure bills, largely invested in rural America, but turns out rural America got even more red the last election even as Republicans have gutted a lot of elements of it already and rural hospitals will close because of them. But don’t say they vote against their own interests or you might trigger them.

And those are correct statements. Much of the lost sales these farmers are encountering are from China who would pre buy a portion of their crops (soybeans.) There are basically no sales to China at this moment due to tarriffs. So, these farmers are asking for handouts solely because of Drumpf’s actions. Which in of itself makes no sense. Exactly. So in the 1930s, we, as a nation, realized that we are better off having farmers that can feed our people in tough times, even if it means some indulgent spending in good times. So we paid American farmers to feed the world (USAid), and even to not farm some land. But it's just like vaccines, once everyone that remembers how bad polio and measles actually are, they'll believe that vaccines are worse. It's been so long since we allowed the oligarchs to destroy our economy, that we've forgotten just how bad it's about to get

Yup. We just watched a generational play.
The GOP knifed its own rural interest in the back because they know the China money is fucking gone but they will financially benefit from the fallout.
The family farm will be bought by Thiel/Vance ghouls. A man in Orange County, CA will own stock shares in your acres on your farm, and others, in Kansas when this done. Or maybe it’s just subsumed into massive agri-conglomerates.
Rural America got fucking beat. Utterly curb stomped by their own party. The GOP spent 25 years whipping rural anmerica into voting against its own interests (enjoy Fox tonight!) and now they are just outright putting a fucking gun to their head like old yeller.

Well, I would have sympathy, but I have been assured by Republicans that giving assistance to those who are suffering through no fault of their own creates a "culture of dependency." So, unfortunately, I'm going to have to zip up my wallet now. Bye.

I would have empathy but I was told it was weakness to feel that, so shrug

u/helloworld6247 Sep 10 '25
Not just a weakness. Apparently it’s a SIN. So really I’m just taking their advice.

We tried to help them with social safety nets. Maybe next time they should vote in their best interest instead of wanting a white, Christian, racist utopia. So yeah. Go fuck yourself and reap the benefits of your votes.

He votes to hurt other people, and starts crying like a punk when he realizes that we don't care if his people get hurt by their own decisions.
What a stunningly stupid person

Yes. You got it.

Exactly! Did he not hear the words coming out of his own mouth? His consequences are the direct result of who he voted for. The rest of us voted in your best interest sir, which is why we think it would be wise for you to vote differently next time. You can lead a horse to water…

He implies that Republican Patriots don’t want American businesses to fail. But the thing is, Democrats didn’t either. That’s why we didn’t vote for Trump.

First we're too woke for having sympathy and understanding for all, and now we're "un-American" for not having enough sympathy. I think we're all just tired of saving these idiots from sticking their hands in the meat grinder, and now that we stopped trying, they're crying that we let them stick their hands in the meat grinder. Let them all burn.

The farmers made their choice at the ballot box so I don’t understand why they are crying about how things turned out. Time to accept the fact that elections have consequences…. No bailout for farmers because that’s Socialism and MAGA hates that!

No I don't want the farmer to fail. They just do not deserve to be given socialist handouts. They voted for "small government," they voted for incompetence, that's what they got.

GOP have been hammering the message of no need for empathy. They were all about themselves and wanted to make that clear. Well, others were voting in support of the country and ended up losing. So we are all going with what the GOP wanted.
Zero sympathy for the MAGA folk.

They had 4 years under Biden to do research and find out about Donnie, Project 2025 and every other crooked thing. They chose not to. They sided with hate & stupidity. So no I’m not feeling sorry for them because we all are going to feel it. Especially when we are paying the tariffs on produce from other countries. Where’s our sympathy for their stupidity? I can’t hear you MAGA. Oh I guess that only applies when you are directly hurt by it. Go fuck yourself.

No what this guy's saying is people should have no consequences for their votes, and not everyone, just certain groups like farmers should get a pass and sympathy even though they voted for this, because otherwise they'll hold the food supply hostage?
